Both ?A con or a testing ground?
BOTH. The Gentiles conned us into thinking amalgamation of the Kingdom and governance of man was ok. Whereas seeing past this con and understanding that Jesus taught the opposite, separation of the two.. is the test of understanding of the Kingdom of God.A con or a testing ground?
Crucifixion was necessary to cement the concept of will of God over will of man. Had the flesh failed at this point the game would have been over and no King, Kingdom or resurrection.perhaps He would not have had to have been crucified !?

why do so many people believe we are on the narrow path?
Some do miss out on the concept that He did nothing of His own will but only of the Father. His teaching to us was after all just that. Reject our will over His as that is what got us kicked out of the Garden in the first place. Jesus not only showed that the flesh could overcome self will by accepting God's will over our own which allowed a helping hand, but gave us an example to follow. The crucifixion was Yahuweh and Yahushua's Way of Salvation/ Atonement/ Redemption,
but did not in any way "improve" (nor 'cement') His Will over the will of any created being.
Was that you that wore the ballet costume to a Christening? Putting the will of God ahead of the will of man is often like that in man's world.Sometimes we experience it, especially in a secular environment: You end up being the odd one and realize you are on a narrow path.
Yahuweh provided for the self and the flesh (with all of its desires and lusts)Jesus not only showed that the flesh could overcome self will by accepting God's will over our own which allowed a helping hand, but gave us an example to follow.

He provided as a result the Kingdom. You want in you have to make up your mind who has the better will, man or God. After thousands of years of expulsion from the Garden in order to learn the consequences of our self serving actions, you would think that would be clear by now. Sad Christianity avoids teaching that to avoid pointing out it's own failures at remaining separate from the governance oif man.Yahuweh provided for the self and the flesh (with all of its desires and lusts)
to be "crucified with Jesus",
Daniel 11:35Both ?
No, I would not think that would be clear by now (to the world). After thousands of years of expulsion from the Garden in order to learn the consequences of our self serving actions, you would think that would be clear by now.
Then obviously the truth didn''t sink in or there would be a definite division due to the consequences being learned that our ways create more strife while God's reduces it.No, I would not think that would be clear by now (to the world).
We (Ekklesia) did not "learn the consequences" from "thousands of years of expulsion from the Garden" nor thru anything of the flesh,
but rather learned from the Father what is the Truth, according to all of His Word, by faith through grace in Jesus , as written.
No where in Scripture , nor in God's Revealed Plan and Purpose in Christ Jesus,Then obviously the truth didn''t sink in or there would be a definite division due to the consequences being learned that our ways create more strife while God's reduces it.
Then you are saying there were no teachers to pass along the Gospel of the Kingdom. Did they the earliest followers understand or parrot? The church parrots came later after the scripture was safely written down.No where in Scripture , nor in God's Revealed Plan and Purpose in Christ Jesus,
is it written nor stated that "the truth will sink in" for society at all,
until Jesus Returns.
Sorry, you made too many errors/ guesses or assumptions for me to reply to this. Then you are saying there were no teachers to pass along the Gospel of the Kingdom. Did they the earliest followers understand or parrot? The church parrots came later after the scripture was safely written down.
You are the one who said there was no understanding of the consequences of man's will compared to the results oif the will of God.Sorry, you made too many errors/ guesses or assumptions for me to reply to this.
And narrow means Christ only for the way to God and eternal life.Narrow is the way = full of difficulty or tribulation is the way.
22.21 θλίβωb: to cause someone to suffer trouble or hardship—‘to cause trouble to, to persecute, to cause to suffer hardship.’ ἀνταποδοῦναι τοῖς θλίβουσιν ὑμᾶς θλῖψιν ‘to bring suffering on those who make you suffer’ 2 Th 1:6; στενὴ ἡ πύλη καὶ τεθλιμμένη ἡ ὁδός ‘the gate is narrow and the way is difficult (to travel)’ Mt 7:14.
