• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, I surely appreciate you saying the reflections are good as I was wondering about them. I don't mind that you vectorized my art work on this forum, but I am a compulsive "editor" both with what I write and what I do with art, so no doubt will be making my own changes in the future.

Do you have a scanner that you could use for the image?

The reflection on it is really good by the way.

Here is the image slightly retouched, vectorized, etc. if it is helpful. If it is not helpful I can delete it.

Your vectorizing did actually improve the image that is on this page. It has more values contrast. The thing is, the image I pasted, from my iPhone to Dropbox, is rather paled out. The real art work, too, has deeper values contrast, plus richer colors, especially in the pink parts of the water and sky. Next time if I paste something I guess I will do so more carefully, not so hurriedly.

The vectorizing was just to enable it to scale more. The deeper values was a saturation and contrast adjustment.

And actually, I think the vectorization was not needed, the original image was larger than I realized.

Since it sounds like you may have the tools to edit it after all, I will let you handle that, as you can see what the original tones look like. I wasn't sure initially if you had the programs to do so.

Yes, I have a scanner and Painter X, also a Huion monitor one can draw directly on. When I first found out about digital art I was thrilled. As you say, it is so fast. But after awhile it didn't suit me personally so I just mainly do digital work for touch ups. It is great that the Father has made so many ways to do art. (Disclaimer on Painter X. I don't really like that some of the images that pop up on start up are pretty creepy, but Photo Shop from what I hear must be paid for now monthly if you didn't buy it in the past)

I understand, I have three other family members into art and they all prefer traditional, and do not care much for digital.

I have an earlier version of Painter, and I think you can disable the pop-ups (at least in the earlier version) if you mean the art examples that load.

As for photoshop, there are other options, such as Gimp, etc. that are free for editing. Gimp works pretty well when I have tried it, I am just accustomed to Corel.
