Was there anything prior to Genesis?
Were there Dinosaurs and where do they fit in?
Were there Neanderthals and where do they fit in?
No more polls, I just mess them up.
Thanks for giving your opinion.

No, the earth was covered in water and thick clouds. Thete was a reducing (hydrogen rich) atmosphere which no living thing could breath.

Yahuweh and Yahushua have lived eternally, uncreated, echad, forever past without beginning, forever future without end.
There were dinosaurs and whey passed away just like the buffalo and the dodo bird and dozens of other species.
Neanderthals were simply our ancestors in the last 6000 years who grew old - hundreds of years old. Nothing really unusual about that - just a lot of false stories made up by men of the world opposed to Yahuweh (God).

Genesis is the origin of everything. "In the beginning God..." (Gen. 1:1).

Yes, there were dinosaurs. Genesis states they were created on the fifth and sixth day. An interesting fact is that at least 99% of their fossil records show up everywhere other than the region surrounding Mesopotamia. Most are found in North and South America. This suggest that since man didn't travel very far prior to the flood, from Adam to Noah, no one would have made contact with them. It is likely that they were destroyed in the flood without the knowledge of Noah and his family.

Dinos existed. We have the fossils to prove it. Millions of years ago.

People take Genesis too literally. Its not as simple as reading it in black and white. There is more to it.

God gave us science. God has given us an outline of His creation.

The Bible is NOT a science book people.

In the beginning [time]

God [Spirit]

created [energy]

the heaven [space]

and the earth [matter].

The Bible is a science book, but mostly history/His story, and yes, we were all there at the end of Creation, Neanderthals and Dinosaurs too. I mean, our ancestors were all there together...

That was exactly what I told a co-worker at Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto California. I also said, "The Bible is a faith book."

Exactly. Its not a science book. Some people treat it as if it is a science book too. Its very far from it.

I always try to bring this up when I debate atheists who wonder why it doesn't talk about the laws of physics and such. God wrote what was necessary for our salvation, not to entertain speculations.

There are those who believe that the earth existed for billions of years prior to man's creation, and that during that time we had dinosaurs, and early humans like Neanderthal. This is because Genesis talks of man's creation twice, and that has been used to explain many things for which God has chosen not to reveal to us in his word. I have never been satisfied with any answer given to explain these things, but then again, they don't cause me any anxiety. "His ways are not our ways, his thoughts are not our thoughts" have faith, and soldier forward.

I saw a good cartoon showing two dinosaurs watching the ark floating away, and one said to the other, "I thought the flood was going to be tomorrow!"

That was the first day. On the fifth day, God created beasts and wild animals that move on the ground.

The fact man never saw dinosaurs is obviously NOT because of this. It is because all of the dinosaurs died out millions of years before Adam and Eve came into existence. For anyone to say otherwise would require that person to not know about the mass extinction 65 million years ago.

I don't see "millions of years before Adam and Eve came into existence" in the Scriptures.

There is no satisfactory answer, it's always filled with speculation, and the more you dig, the more questions it raises and again...no answers just deeper speculation.

There is a theory that has been around for a while that makes the assertion that the force of gravity was less in the past than it is now. This theory claims that the larger dinosaurs couldn’t have lived under the current laws of physics because of their size and weight (they would literally get crushed under their own weight).

Without getting too complicated, the mass of the earth dictates how many G’s are on earth (1G). The moon has less mass and therefore less G’s (.166G); when men walked on the moon they were able to leap and jump much higher than if they were on earth. The earth gains mass every year from meteorites and space debris, this amount is very little. According to science the earth gained all its mass over the last 5 billion years but the current rate of mass being added can’t possibly be constant throughout earth’s lifetime.

Some believe that a large amount of mass was added during the flood of Noah, and that caused the large extinctions and gravity to increase. Others have argued that the force of gravity itself has changed along with the rate of the universe expanding, which would have an impact on estimates of how old the earth is and the estimated ages of fossils.

I don't think it matters, really. God did not write these things down simply because they aren't important for our salvation.
