  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

According to Jay Sekulow, "defending the indefensible" was the problem the Honorable Robert Mueller had yesterday. It wasn't so much that Mueller had lost his mental faculties, the problem was that Mueller couldn't defend the indefensible.

As a Christian, that makes sense to me. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Sounds like something someone would say if they were unfamiliar with the content of the Mueller report. Or if trying to sell a story to people who are.

Mueller was unfamiliar with the conspiracy theories which grew up during his investigation and was unsure about how to respond to them.

But he made his main point, the one point Republicans don't want made:

Russian interference in the 2016 election was real. It really happened and was not a hoax.

And if Trump were in any other position besides president, he'd be in jail right now.

He wasn’t trying to defend Mr Trump. If anything he is taking the opposite position.

Did you read it?

What were the indefensible things that Mueller defended?

The doublethink on the right surrounding this whole thing is incredible.

The Mueller Report supposedly "completely exonerates" Trump but also, should not be believed because it's just a Democrat witch hunt hoax.

Anyone care to explain that one?

Why would you object to your president being investigated for possible corruption?

Who said I did? He's been investigated eight ways from Sunday. Personally, I think it's made his presidency better ... and stronger.

At some point though it becomes time for the investigators to justify their actions. That's where things are now.

Defending the indefensible? Am I the only one who doesn't understand for sure what he's talking about? At least as presented in the op
Perhaps that is because you don't regard the Mueller investigation as a key component to Hillary's Secret Plan to Get Trump

No. There are apparently a lot of people who don't understand the origins of the investigation and who also apparently refuse to consider the fraudulent nature of some of the activities which prompted the investigation.

You mean Papadopoulos drunkenly mouthing off to an Australian diplomat in May 2016?

I dont get it, what was indefensible?

The dude put the report together and yesterday changed nothing about its contents. Mueller simply didnt want to be there and he also looked a little old and maybe not as familiar with his report as he should have been. Optically, it hurt the dems, but factually, nothing changed, because it wasnt a true cross examination of the work.

Highly likely trump committed obstruction, IMO. up to the house now, to do their job.

Also quite possible, some in the fbi and intelligence communities, abused their powers as well. We will find out when those investigations conclude.

Do tell us more ...

On or about May 10, 2016, at London's Kensington Wine Rooms, Papadopoulos allegedly told the top Australian diplomat to the United Kingdom, Alexander Downer, that Russia was in possession of emails relating to Hillary Clinton. In July, after the DNC hacking had become known, the Australians told U.S. authorities about Papadopoulos's comment, leading the Federal Bureau of Investigation to open a counterintelligence investigation into the Donald Trump presidential campaign on July 31, 2016
