I don’t believe in the overall picture there is a greater nation that the US.

Does that mean it is perfect? No

But it’s the best in the world.

Don’t agree, ok. Which one is better and why.

I may be bias, but the greatest nation in the world in many respects would be the United States of America.

Canada. Not war mongering all over the globe. Wastes less money on defense. Lower incarceration rate. Lower homicide rate. Health care! And their national anthem is prettier. Their paper money is prettier. Did I mention health care? Oh Cananda! :Canada:

If your grandfathers and mine only knew, they would never have fought that war to begin with...

Actually, in this case, you'd be talking about my Father, who served in the Navy during WWII. My father was one of the smartest people I have known, and I'm not just taking about book smarts (though he did have a post-graduate degree from Harvard). He was one of the smartest I've known about living life -- working hard, saving money (an attitude he learned growing up in the hard times of the Depression), the importance of family, and beliefs.

My father though, despite being a staunch conservative, definitely saw that we could be doing things better in the United States -- particularly after he had lived in Europe for a few years in the 1980s. He would definitely would disagree with your claim. In fact, from the men I knew who fought in WWII, would largely be insulted by your ideas, in much the same I (as a Veteran) am insulted by the idea.

The question itself is simple-minded and juvenile. It’s like asking who the best person is.

New Zealand.

Wow! NZ is GREAT! I'd move there in a heartbeat! We visited several years ago and it was FANTASTIC!

And there were still women hitchhiking when even the men in the U.S. had stopped doing so because it was too dangerous.

The other cool thing about NZ is: if you sign a waiver that thing holds! They will let you do the most stupid and dangerous things if you sign the waiver. The ain't gonna be sued because you were too stupid to know that jumping off a bridge with a bungee cord strapped to your ankle was an inherently dangerous idea!

And Flight of the Conchords and Split Enz are from New Zealand! What more do you need????

I see your cartoon and raise you another cartoon.

That one has a glaring inaccuracy, namely the presence of a black soldier. The US Army in WWII was segregated...

...in other words, it understates how unacceptable these soldiers would be to today's antifa.

I wonder how great these "Socialist Utopias" in Europe would be if the United States forced them to pay for their own defense?

From what I've seen, likely pretty well. To start with, most of them have a draft of all (or at least most) youths and a year or two of service. They don't maintain large standing armies, like the US does, but can mobilize fairly quickly if there is a war. Additionally, countries like France and Switzerland, that aren't a part of NATO, seem to do fine with defending their countries while maintaining their "socialist utopias."

Ummm, you DO realize who likes a stable Europe and who kinda likes maintaining control over military actions in Europe and has 600 million thumbs? This country! Yeah!

A militarily less robust Europe is kinda in our best interest. That and the fact that our interests vs the Russians is helped by a united grouping of countries like in NATO. Well, that was until we elected a president who seems to want to turn the keys to America over to Vladimir Putin, former KGB officer. Now I guess we can just pull outta Europe and leave them to our new friend Vlad.

Sorry. I had to stop at "countries like France and Switzerland, that aren't a part of NATO". I guess Mrs. Hélène Duchene, the French Ambassador to NATO, didn't get the memo.

Do you really mean to tell me that without the United States protecting them, these European countries that are sooooo superior to the United States would be over run by the Russians?! I guess America is so great that we make Europe great too.

“Every day, 100 Americans are killed with guns and hundreds more are shot and injured.”

THIS is America...
Well, name me one other country who had a sitting President riding a raptor while wielding a machine gun?

You can't! :)

The United States and Russia are natural allies. Remember it was Russian intervention that tipped the scales toward the defeat of ISIS in Syria.
