A blanket of smoke permeated the market district in downtown Kingston yesterday as vendors who said they lost their livelihood in a fire which started early morning pondered their next move.

Fire chief says more stations needed across island
When a fire occurs it is difficult for both the firefighters and persons affected by the fire.
First, there are not enough fire stations in Jamaica and therefore fighting fires is even more challenging.
Each year also, vendors lose their goods, like in the above fire in Downtown, and families become displaced and homeless, losing every thing they have because of fires, and sometimes people including children also die being trapped by a fire in their home.
Jesus Christ gave me two dreams previously about fire and smoke.
Today, this morning Jesus Christ gave me another dream, a third dream, this is where it seemed as if more than one fire (several) was taking place at the same time in Jamaica. I saw a lot of people running around looking confused because it seems smoke was coming from all around and persons did not know what to do and where to go. I saw a lot of smoke that was black in color and many people were standing up coughing, using their hands or whatever they had to try and cover their nose.
I also saw a situation where in a fast food restaurant (I am not sure if it is in Jamaica) where there was smoke, and I saw a young female calling an elderly person on her phone who was in the fast food eatery and she very worried and asked this elderly female where she was, wanting her to leave, but the elderly woman did not understand the danger that she was in and so she wasn't leaving.
There are several things that can be done to help persons when fire occurs. First of all it is very important for each person to have a smoke mask to protect themselves from smoke as much as they can, including for the children, the elderly, and those who are sick. Ensure to carry a mask everywhere you go, like in your handbag, pocket, because one never knows when a fire will suddenly break out around causing a lot of smoke and mayhem.
If persons can't get a smoke mask, at least carrying a rag everywhere you go is better than having no protection at all.
Additionally carrying water with you wherever you go is also helpful because you can put some water on the rag and hold it over your nose and mouth to help protect against the smoke.
Furthermore, when there is a lot of smoke, getting low on the ground if safe will help you to breathe better, reducing the effects of smoke inhalation.
Hospitals, fire stations, police stations, offices, can also assist, by ensuring to have smoke masks to distribute to those who may have none.
