  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Do you have a relationship with Jesus?

The bible is clear and simple. Why do people make up baloney instead of quoting the bible?

Repent and believe. Those aren't my words. Those are the words of Jesus.

You know questions come up with the "repent" part, Pastor, Sir...

All known sin...? Or only all sin you know that you commit...? Or does it include even sins that you may commit but don't have full knowledge of, or know at or in the moment, ect...? But once revealed to you, instantly repent of and never do again, or your not saved or won't ever be saved, if you ever do them again, ect, ect...? And, on and on it goes, you know...?

How many can live up to those standards Pastor Sir...?

For that matter do you perfectly live up to those standards...?

And if you do not, why do you tell people to just repent and not say anything more...?

God Bless!

In order to answer your question, we must first define sin. Sin in Greek means missing the mark. Yes we miss the mark everyday. But there is a difference between willful habitual sin, verses unintentional ignorant isolated sins. No you cannot be intentionally willfully sinning everyday and still be saved. But yes, we are saved the moment we turn from sin and put our trust in Jesus Christ. And by turning from sin, what I mean is, you decide no longer to live in sin. But yes, we are not perfect and we still sin even after we are saved, but it is no longer a willful habitual sin, rather it is unintentional ignorant isolated sins. And because we still miss the mark everyday, we must ask for forgiveness everyday as instructed in the Lord's prayer. Jesus is not so much concerned with what you did, but rather it comes down to how you humble yourself and confess that you have fallen short.

I think there is some doubletalk/speak in there, but in general, I like what you said and agree, for the most part anyway, with what you are saying or at least what I think you are trying to say anyway...

Especially the last parts...

Your heart seems like it might be in the right place maybe...?

Thanks,

God Bless!
