The Solemnity of the Sacred Heart is celebrated throughout the world on the Friday following the Feast of Corpus Christi.

I believe it was propogated first by St. Margaret Mary Alcoque.

It goes against Eastern Christian teachings, as we are forbidden to adore Our Lord's humanity or divinity separately. How much more, therefore, are we forbidden to take and organ of His physical body as an object of adoration.
