Joseph Smith Translation (JST)
Although not the official Bible of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,
the JST offers many interesting insights and is
an invaluable aid to biblical interpretation and understanding. It is a most fruitful
source of useful information for the student of the scriptures. It is likewise a witness for the divine calling and ministry of the Prophet Joseph Smith.
God commanded Joseph Smith the translate the New Testament:
(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 45:60)
60 And now, behold, I say unto you, it shall not be given unto you to know any further concerning this chapter, until the
New Testament be translated, and in it all these things shall be made known;
Notice the difference here:
KJV (New Testament | Matthew 6:13)
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
JST (New Testament:Matthew 6:13)
And suffer us not to be led into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Which is more correct? Does God really lead people into temptation?
