The Bible is inspired by God. What does this mean?

Simply put - "What the Bible says, God says."

Some say that the Bible is inspired, but they are not comfortable saying that the Bible is the very words of God. They have some looser, stranger view of inspiration.

What the Bible says, God says. Can we give this a hearty "Amen"?

Do you think it is possible to be a follower of Christ without believing the Bible is 100% Gods word off of the simple fact that a person may not trust the intentions of human beings? Do you THINK the Bible is 100% the word of God or do you KNOW it’s 100% the word of God?

Does it say clearly in the Bible that the pope has authority or do we read between the lines to come to that conclusion? If we are reading between than that’s an opinion and far from infallible I would think.

God speaks to us through study of scripture as he also does through prayer and Christian meditation and his creation and many other ways we can hear God's very living voice (his Word, also incarnated as Jesus, a person) if only we choose to listen to him speak. Hearing the voice of God does not necessitate John being a type of Oracle of Delphi.

No, that's impossible. Popes are bishops, and the office of bishop is mentioned in several New Testament books.

I believe that God can use all sorts of things to draw people to seek him. But the Bible is uniquely God's infallible word and no other words can be described as such. We cannot read the Great Gatsby alone and discover how to be saved or how to live in a way pleasing to God.

We can read the Great Gatsby and learn quite a lot about total depravity.

If it does, you should acknowledge those people who preserved it. When Christianity was illegal in Rome, people who got caught in possession of handwritten copies of Paul's letters, for example, could be charged with a crime, imprisoned, even killed.

We have much to thank the Western church for to preserve the Words of God.
