But Mueller does say that congress could impeach regarding obstruction, as impeachment is the way to decide such a thing. There are grounds for it.

The proof will be in the pudding, but I wouldn't bet on it happening. Even Pelosi advised against it already.

And yet the investigation was to find evidence to charge Trump, and there wasn't any.
Here is some evidence of obstruction of justice.

"There is evidence that at least one purpose of the President's conduct toward Sessions was to have Sessions assume control over the Russia Investigation and supervise it in a way that would restrict its scope." Page 112, Volume II

"President Trump reacted negatively to the special counsel's appointment. He told advisors that it was the end of his presidency, sought to have Attorney General Jeff Sessions unrecuse from the Russia investigation and to have the Special Council removed, and engaged in efforts to curtail the Special Council's investigation and prevent the disclosure of evidence to it, including through public and private contacts with potential witnesses." Is his career over now? It doesn't seem to be that way.

AG Barr has forever tarnished what was reportedly a fairly honorable career with a few dings here and there--1989 Iran Contra, for example.

His initial statement and his press conference today were desperate attempts to protect Trump--although there was absolutely NO justification for his conclusions. Poor Rosenstein looked somber and miserable to have been pulled in as a silent prop for Barr's lies.

His press conference--along with his fortuitious decision to release the report while Congress was away for Easter, not to return until 4/29--will convince Trump's hardcore supporters--but it won't fool the majority of Americans.

An innocent man would not have pulled ANY of the tricks Trump did.

I would not be surprised to see an impeachment hearing--and just hope that the presidential candidates focus on the issues (another HUGE weakness of Trump) and let the more-than-justified character assassination of Trump proceed without their notice.

The report has only been out a few hours, so it's pretty hard to tell. The president sure felt like this investigation would end his career when it started. I guess we will find out sometime between now and the end of next year.

That is not accurate. They did find evidence that could have supported a charge of obstruction. The problem is they also found evidence, conduct, behavior, that weakened a charge of obstruction. Mueller very clearly believes there is some evidence of obstruction but not enough.

That is facile.

Given the ambiguity of whether Trump obstructed justice, the Dems in Congress may engage in political self-immolation by attempting to impeach on the basis of obstruction.

Ok then. Not enough evidence. Case closed. At least it should be.

Are you happy to have a President that is corrupt, but not quite corrupt enough to go to jail...?

Mueller report ~~~ The evidence we obtained about the President’s actions and intent presents difficult issues that would need to be resolved if we were making a traditional prosecutorial judgment. At the same time, if we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the President clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state. Based on the facts and the applicable legal standards, we are unable to reach that judgment.

The Mueller repot is very tightly and carefully written in legal language to say just ^^^THAT^^^ without coming out and saying it as bluntly as you just put it.

Find me a politician who's not corrupt in the slightest. Until then, we'll have to do the best we can with who we can get.

Not as long as Senate Republicans refuse to hold him accountable, no.

Accountable for what? I'm still waiting to find out what Mueller found that we're supposed to hold him accountable for. So is Pelosi, since she's not in favor of impeachment.

Because other politicians have shown corruption in the past, we should excuse Trump's corruption?

Is that really a good standard to have?

The Republican Senate will protect the party over anything else, so I don't think impeachment is useful. But in regards to 2020, Dems should really focus on the unethical behavior of the president as to why he needs to be voted out.

What do you propose? Another investigation? Maybe prosecute him while knowing their isn't enough evidence? Perhaps trying to impeach anyway, just for the fun of it? Go ahead with all of this and it won't make the democrats look very good. Won't remove him from the White House. Won't help bring the country together either. In fact, it won't accomplish anything at all.

Cop out...

Think about what you’re supporting....Mueller finds that Trump clearly gave orders that amounted to an obstruction of justice. Why wasn’t that obstruction carried out...? Was it because Trump realised the error of his ways and rescinded those orders..?

No....it was because his underlings either had the good sense to ignore, or were fearful of the consequences...!

But, you’re still supporting a President who was prepared to put himself above the law...
