Based on the quote in the OP, he also seems explicit about searching for evidence that something didn’t happen. Because that seems a little peculiar.

No surprise, this is basically what barr stated in his summary.

As i have stated, likely you could find attorneys, that could build a case for obstruction and likely just as many, that could build a robust defense against that charge.

I have to pat myself on the back, because i stated months ago, we likely get a hillary 2.0 here; careless and dicey behavior, but not enough to bring charges. I am sure some in the mueller group think obstruction happened and some dont, just as some in the fbi disagreed with comey and felt they had the goods to charge hilary.

Regarding Russian collusion, it seems like the IRA and Wikileaks would drop Trump campaign members bread crumbs regarding their actions, but weren't "coordinating". Those campaign members, such as Trump Jr., ate those breadcrumbs right up.

They didn't collude with the Russians who were performing illegal activity, they were just the beneficiaries, and then lied to Congress about the contacts they did have. Everything above board, prim and proper, amiright?

The whole investigation, as any investigation, is to answer the question "Is there sufficient evidence to charge the person with this crime" the answer to that question will be yes or no. In this case it is No. It's not, is this person innocent, because you can't know what evidence you lack, only what you have.

It appears, by such a statement, that there is evidence that supports obstruction. That is not uncommon with any investigation or any hypothesis in dispute. But that evidence is insufficient to proceed legally. That is the take away, this is done, there is nothing more to do unless we want to continue the narrative and speculation not with the promise of evidence as before, but with insufficient evidence. An investigation, such as this, is not capable of declaring innocence, only legal justification for prosecution.

Mueller cannot confidently state Trump didn’t obstruct justice

One reason Mueller's prosecutors said they could not clear Trump on obstruction of justice was that while the president was confident his campaign had not conspired with Russia to sway the 2016 election, he was still fearful that the FBI might uncover other crimes during its probe.

“The evidence uncovered in the investigation did not establish that the President or those close to him were involved in the charged Russian computer-hacking or active-measure conspiracies, or that the President had an otherwise unlawful relationship with any Russian official,” Mueller’s team wrote.

“But the evidence does indicate that a thorough FBI investigation would uncover facts about the campaign and the President personally that the President could have understood to be crimes or that would give rise to personal and political concerns.”

Among those concerns were the fact that Trump was still seeking business in Russia through the 2016 campaign, including efforts his aides were making to advance a Trump Tower Moscow project.
