It means exactly what it is.It is the beginning of the month.Yes the start of the month means we are in a new month.
The 18th day of February is the eighteenth day of the second month of February. We count our days from the start of the month.

I don't know how you count your days?

We have a different number of days in our months because we use a solar calendar.

The old Jewish calendar only had thirty days in every month.

So the old Jewish calendar is not synchronized with our calendar. Sabbath days in Israel are on different days to the Sabbath days in the western world. A lunar calendar and a solar calendar are different calendars.

You know the Jewish month starts at the new moon, in the western calendar the new moon is not the start of the month.

The weekly cycle does not effect the yearly cycle. From one year to the next the weekly cycle moves from one year to the next unchanged every seven days on a contiual basis. Your in error brother.

I know right? There has been similar statements and claims all through this thread, then when asked for the scripture to support the claims made no one replies.
Not true LGW.

You make lot's of claims about matters outside of the scripture. Two examples are Christian history and Jewish history, you flatly deny both. I have not yet seen one shred of evidence support your claims.

I gave you the verse that identifies the weekly Sabbath in Leviticus 23. You continue to deny what is written in the text.

No you made the claim...
klutedavid posted: The start of the month and the subsequent occurrence of the Sabbath is based on the new moon.

When asked for scripture you provided none.

Sorry brother only sent in love but God's Word disagrees with you.

Not in a lunar calendar, the day count changes according to the start of the lunar month.

Will you also deny that a lunar calendar and a solar calendar have a different start of each month?

Well that is not true at all brother David. Please post the scripture showing that the day of the week changes at the start of the month.

Not so, your faulty method of interpretation fails time and time again.

Hmm nice come back. You were quoted God's WORD that disagree with your words. Then you make claims that you cannot support with God's WORD. Who should we believe your words or God's WORD *ROMANS 3:4?

The scripture works on a lunar calendar, you will only ever find the phrase 'new moon' mentioned in the scripture. The scripture declares the lunar calendar every time it says 'new moon'.

Your following the Gregorian calendar which never mentions a new moon, why do we not celebrate the new moon?

So you don't accept the historical fact that different societies had different calendars?

Why would you think that? I have only stated that the calanders do not effect the days of the week.

What has Romans 3:4 got to do with new moon celebrations?

Only God's WORD is true and we should believe and follow it. You have been provided God's WORD and yet in return you have not provided a single scripture showing your claims that the days of the week change every times we have a NEW MOON.

Jewish history says that they used a lunar calendar. Your the one saying that in the first century the Gregorian calendar was in effect. Even though the Gregorian calendar was not instituted until the sixteenth century.

This fact alone tells us that first century days do not align with modern days.

What calendar do you think that Israel was using in the first century?

The days will certainly change if you follow a lunar calendar.

You cannot ever get an alignment between first century days of the week in Israel and current days.

These are not claims I'm making, this is historical fact. Your the one claiming that Israel was not under a lunar calendar, so the onus is on you to name the calendar in Israel in the first century.

God's Word is not your interpretation of the scripture. God's Word is what the scripture states, which says I'm correct.

Anyway LGW, we need you to name the calendar that was followed in first century Israel.

Sure God's people used a Luna calander. God's WORD was posted on this earlier as to why it was used. The luna calander according to God's WORD in GENESIS 1:14-19 shows that the luna calander to to show times and seasons. It was used to time the ANNUAL FEAST DAYS. (You even provided scriptures showing that the NEW MOONS were in connection to the ANNUAL FEAST DAYS earlier in the thread). As posted earlier this has nothing to do with a weekly cycle which is a continual 7 day cycle that occours every seven days through out the year.

Your claim is that...
klutedavid posted: The start of the month and the subsequent occurrence of the Sabbath is based on the new moon.

This is unbliblical and you have no scripture for this claim.

Then you will have no problems providing the scriptures to prove your point. Please post the scriptures. If you cannot then why do you not believe God's WORD?
