I didn't like being lied to all those decades about the shape of the earth. And, yes, most of the population is still that naive.
so are the rest of the planets sphere or the moon a sphere or the sun or is it just the earth that is flat?

Try it out for a while. When I said people will hate you, I meant it. Pure seething anger and hatred is a typical response.

I've seen plenty of flat earthers talking to plenty of people, and in my experience, incredulity, blank stares, shook heads and snickers are the typical response. It's not like people aren't used to hearing other people spouting off crazy ideas. Flat Earth doesn't get any more hatred than usual.

Maybe it's just you and your charming personality?

Right ive seen people that have actually been in space debate flat earthers and its like an adult debating a child about if there are little people in the radio or not.

When you do earth curvature measurements and there is no curve, and witness hundreds of like measurements with the same results, it's not unreasonable to assume there is no curve.

When the record long-distance photography picture shows things that would be impossible on a ball as we are told it is, it's not unreasonable to assume there is no curve.

When the record distance microwave transmission was completed at a distance impossible on the globe due to line of sight, it's not unreasonable to assume there is no curve.

When people are using infrared video equipment and are capturing the bases of mountains 1,200 miles away when the peak of it should have been hidden under 120 miles of globe curve, it's not unreasonable to assume there is no curve.

When you learn that science attempted multiple times to prove the movement of the earth, but failed and had to create the concepts of special relativity and Lorentz contraction to simulate motion, it's not unreasonable to assume the earth isn't in motion.

When science has proven through experimentation that the observed motion between the earth and the stars is because the stars are the objects in motion and not the earth, it's not unreasonable to assume the earth isn't in motion.

When Stephen Hawking does an earth curvature special to 'prove' the curve and has to fabricate his measurements, it's not unreasonable to assume he couldn't find a curve.

So, when everyone gets on these threads and exclaims flat-earthers are stupid because {insert list here} wouldn't work on a flat earth, the truth is, it's already working on a flat earth, you just don't realize it yet. We have so much evidence on our side, it isn't even funny. But you have pictures of a ball, so there's that.

I do have an open mind. That's how I was able to consider the possibility of a flat earth in the first place.

Is it still open?

It's all you who instantly reject and mock that lack the open mind.

Actually, A_Thinker has spent more time than anyone engaging in this subject in a very intelligent and civilized way. After watching the results of those exchanges, it has become crystal clear that no amount of discussion is going to convince FE people of anything.

The idea of a flat earth despite incontrovertible evidence is beyond ridiculous.

Satellites and visual, human confirmation has proven it is not flat. As has science spanning back a long way that still stands true.

It was proven empirically by the ancient Greeks 300+ years before Christ. It was such common knowledge at the time the Church was founded that the Church simply accepted it. The organized Church never held the belief that the earth was flat.

I didn't say you said 'all'.

Please just stop trying to assume what you haven't lived.

I don't have to live someone else's life to make basic observations about it.

Careful. Your persecution complex is showing.

Try it out for a while. When I said people will hate you, I meant it.

What you're seeing is justifiable disapproval of people who spread lies.

That, and pity.

And perhaps a reaction to your verbal aggression.

When you do earth curvature measurements and there is no curve

This is false.

When the record long-distance photography picture shows things that would be impossible on a ball as we are told it is

This is false. The record long-distance photograph was taken on a day when atmospheric conditions produced more refraction than normal, that's all. The photograph still looked nothing like what it would have if the earth was flat.

All your "proofs" are false, in fact. You also ignoring unambiguous evidence of a round earth, like the Southern Hemisphere stars, distances between cities, Southern Hemisphere seasons, etc.

When science has proven through experimentation that the observed motion between the earth and the stars is because the stars are the objects in motion and not the earth

This is nonsense too.

Awww, gee, thanks for pitying poor ol' us.

Save it. We will be those who are ultimately vindicated. We don't require your pity when it is you who are the confused.

Just out of curiosity, how do you envision your view being vindicated? Are flat earthers going to perhaps lead an expedition to the edge of the disc and document it? And then all the governments and scientists of the world are going to all say 'Well, looks like you got us. It was flat the entire time! We've been lying about it for 2500 years. Fooled you, huh?'

And then all the governments and scientists of the world are going to all say 'Well, looks like you got us. It was flat the entire time! We've been lying about it for 2500 years. Fooled you, huh?'

Maybe we ought to start thinking about building a Wall around the entire earth so that people and animals and boats and cars and things don't run right off the edge, because I'm not sure where they'll end up if they fall off (Hell?) and I'm feeling real concerned for the safety of all these people and animals living near there. And visitors may be from other countries and might not be able to read any warning signs that someone might have kindly posted out there.

Also, why do we need to fly a plane all the way around and over to the other side of the flat disc in order to visit Asian countries? Wouldn't it be easier to just drill a few holes through the earth and have world subway systems to get to the other side?

If the sun is just a big flashlight in the sky that beams around the top of the disc, do all the people living underneath the disc have perpetual night? Does China really experience sunshine or is that just all trickery too and they only see the sun if they visit here in North America?

If it turns out that all of our countries are on the top of the disc, and it's perpetual night on the other side, is that the Sheol, that dark and dismal place, where all of the old testament people ended up before Jesus? Or maybe it's a whole other world full of vampires and werewolves and all those old stories are really true when a vampire or a werewolf escaped over to our side? Maybe that's another reason for a Wall, though I would bet a vampire could leap right over it. Then again, they might not need to leap if they don't have a Wall down there and they fall off their side into ours like we would, so they would simply fall over our Wall.

And..ACK! I forgot all about the FISH....maybe we could cooperate with the nighttime world on the other side of our disc so that the wall can apply to both places so that the fish won't get lost if they fall off of the disc altogether. It probably wouldn't happen though because someone would decide that was communism. *sigh*

it's the conspiracy problem, the more people that would be involved, the greater the chances that someone would divoldge the truth and blow the whistle.

Your looking at many people that fly planes, scientists in many different countries, space agencies in many different countries, many of which have counter interests to american, I bet china would love to prove the earth was flat and show the ignorant americans and such. Plus no reason to even assume that the earth is flat.

It's the same thing with the moon landing conspiracy theory. If you actually count up the millions of people who would had to have been "in on it," it beggars belief.

This sort of histrionic hyperbole is typical of those who by into conspiracy theories. It's impossible that others who disagree with them merely disagree with them, pity them, laugh at them. They have to be hated and the victims of the most intense, raging fury. The sort of thing that one would reserve for the murderer of your child.

All because they believe something as asinine as flat earth.
