CAN YOU HAVE GOD'S GRACE WITHOUT GOD'S LAW?

Hello all. Thought this would be an interesting topic for discussion. How can you have God's GRACE if there is not LAW that gives us the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL? If we do not KNOW that we are all sinners how can we see our need of a Saviour?

According to God's WORD, ALL those who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN will not enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN *HEBREWS 10:26-27 because they reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23.

OBEDIENCE to God's LAW is not how we are saved it is the FRUIT of God's work in us as we BELIEVE and FOLLOW his WORD. If our faith has no fruit it is dead *JAMES 2:18-20; 26 and our tree will be cast down and thrown into the fire *MATTHEW 3:10; 7:19-20; 13:49-50.

We are saved by GRACE through faith and not of ourselves it is a gift of God *EPHESIANS 2:8. We are all sick with sin and need a Physician *MATTHEW 9:12-13. If we do not know we are sick why would we seek a physician?

The scriptures teach us that GOD'S LAW (10 Commandment) gives us the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL; SIN AND RIGHTOUESNESS *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4; PSALMS 119:172. God's 10 commandments give us the KNOWLEDGE of what SIN is when broken and lead us to CHRIST that we might be forgiven by faith. WHAT IS GRACE FOR?

If there were no Law there would be no sin. If there were no sin there would be no need of Grace. So without Law there is no need of Grace. This begs the question. Is gaining knowledge of the Law original sin? Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge which they were forbidden to eat from. Was their sin disobeying God while still innocent and ignorant of Law or were they already to some degree familiar with Law having been forbidden to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge?

Hi brother GAW, nice to meet you. Good post. It is indeed God's LAW that leads us to God's Grace. As you have rightly pointed out if we have no knowledge of What SIN is then we have no need of a Saviour. As to ADAM and EVE? Before they sinned they were in perfect harmony with God and his LAW so did not need any knowledge of it. It is indeed disobedience to God's WORD that is sin. ADAM and EVE knew not to disobey God in regards to the tree of the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL. In the day they would do so God told them they would lose eternal life. The wages of SIN (breaking God's LAW) is death to all those who reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23. What do you think GRACE is for?

So grace is favor, "unmerited favor." Salvation by Grace. Grace is, therefore, God's unmerited favor - His goodness toward those who have no claim on, nor reason to expect, divine favor. The principal manifestation of God's grace has been in the form of a gift.
