No Compromise at the Border.

The question is often ask in the news media:

“Who will compromise on the border wall, Trump or Nancy?”

But, as far as I can tell, there is no room for compromise in this dispute.

The dispute is about paying for the wall or not paying for the wall.

There is no middle ground here for compromise.

Either the wall will be paid for or the wall will not be paid for.

So the only way this dispute will end is if one side folds completely and totally gives in to the other.

This dispute over the border wall will not end in compromise, it will only end when one side completely folds.

Will it be Trump or will it be Nancy?

We may have to wait two more years to find out.

I'm kind of hoping that the Federal workers win in their lawsuit that would stop the government from requiring them to work without pay. Let the airports shut down because TSA isn't working and you'll see a deal made that hour.

The wall isnt a bad idea. At least its a step in the direction of answering the illegal immigration problem. At least Trump is trying to do something about it.Whats Nancy doing about this problem? Nothing that i know of.

As I see it the Democrats have already compromised, offering 1.3 billion (I think it was) for border security already. Far short of the 5+B that Trump is asking for but not a goose-egg.

How long before unpaid workers walk off the job? How long before furloughed workers begin marching with the unpaid that walk off the job? How long before GOP legislators get fed up with he who shall not be named? How long before Congress gives him a funding bill that is veto proof?

We could compromise by agreeing that border security is important and taking the advice of experts on how to mitigate the issues. The wall is nothing more then a distraction.

It's highly unlikely, however, I would like to see the Democratic led House introduce a bill with the exact language of the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act of 2013 which was introduced in the Senate by Chuck Schumer and passed with bi-partisan support by a vote of 68-32.
The 2013 Bill, after passing in the Senate, died in the GOP led House because Boehner refused to call the bill.
The Democratic House should pass a new piece of legislation with the exact language and send it to the GOP Senate/Trump to see if they are really serious about Immigration Reform or if the "wall" is nothing more than posturing.
