And if you want to convince me the earth is a ball, show me the motion and curve. Motion and curvature tests favor flat earth. I've seen over a hundred of them and so far no motion or curve. If you can go out and measure a curve, you'll be famous, because you'll be the first.

I asked you a question. Can you answer it or not?

>> And what the heck does the origins and details of our universe and life itself have to do with evolution or how it is spectacularly successful in explaining the diversity of life now and in the past and how all life is related? Do you even understand what evolution is, and is not? <<

Sorry, I thought the answer was absurdly obvious, since I already talked about it. Here it is again, "People wonder how 'science' could be wrong about the origins and details of our universe, all they have to do is look and see how 'science' got it all wrong about the origins and details of life itself. It's a wonderful case study in the progression of mass delusion."

Yeah, repeating a vague statement that mentions two topics unrelated to evolution (origin of the universe and origin of life) still doesn't answer my question about evolution and how it explains the diversity of life we see now and in the fossil record and how all life is related. Further you're still avoiding the question I asked about whether you understood what evolution is or is not.

Any chance you can actually answer my questions or are you going dance around and pretend that your unrelated meandering musings are germane?

You are free to try to excuse it any way you wish, of course.

You're assumption is inaccurate. I also think a common assumption is that the ball-earthers who departed that paradigm didn't come up with every excuse themselves that's ever been presented in this thread and others before changing their mind. There's not one thing that anyone has said on any flat-earth thread against the flat-earth that hasn't been researched by someone.

So, when I hear the standard, 'the {enter excuse here} doesn't work on a flat-earth' excuse, I know there's no study that has gone into that aspect of their objection.

Does anybody here really think people just wake up one day and think, 'today I'll be a flat-earther'? No. It's a long and often painful deprogramming process.

I’m fairly convinced that flat-earthery can be cured by looking in-depth at any of the problem issues. By in-depth I mean a thorough understanding of how a thing works, not just what some guy posts on a blog site about it. If you look into how GPS works for example, find out everything there is to know about it, then try to explain it all away, that would be one way of seeing why the flat earth notion doesn’t work. But you’d have to be willing to go beyond a few superficial notions.

If that's not evidence, then what is?

Nothing. It's a dishonest game they play because literally anything presented as evidence will be dismissed, excused, hand waved or ignored.

Satellite photos?
Satellites are fake and the photo is CGI

Video from ISS?
ISS is fake and NASA is part of the conspiracy

Live video cams from Antarctica?
Fake NASA Potemkin villages in Greenland or Alaska

etc. etc.

Easy, watch a Lunar eclipse.

Aristotle bolstered his belief in a round Earth with the observation that during lunar eclipses, the Earth's shadow on the face of the sun is curved. Since this curved shape exists during all lunar eclipses, despite the fact that Earth is rotating, Aristotle correctly intuited from this curved shadow that the Earth is curvy all around — in other words, a sphere.

The same people that reject the science of an empirically spherical earth have no problems accepting science of medicine when they're sick. Funny how that works.
Not always true.

A shadow will conform to the shape of the object it's being cast upon.

An actual empirical measurement. Pictures aren't proof in themselves, unless you also think this pic is proof good ol' George was a Trump supporter. It is a picture after all, therefore it must be evidence of that fact, right?

I just wanted to add, have you ever seen a selenelion eclipse? There's some footage of recent ones floating around.

It's a lunar eclipse with both the sun and moon fully visible in the sky, an impossibility if the earth is supposed to be directly between the two.

I went beyond a lot of superficial notions in many different areas, that's why I'm a flat-earther. Perhaps you could try taking your own advice from the FE point of view. I've been where you are, but few, if any, of you have been where I am.

If it's a globe we shouldn't be able to see Chicago across 54 miles of Lake Michigan.

Nothing more amusing than the smug self confidence of those who believe lies.

Show me an image of Chicago from 54 miles from ground level. You may be able to see the tops of the beacon on the Willis Tower from there. Have you ever wondered why you can't see it from farther than that? All you have to do is take a boat out on Lake Michigan. Head away from Chicago and see how far away you are when you can't see the tower anymore.
