But what kinds of sins are we talking about here?

Obviously this would not be murder, right?
Nor would it be rape, or child abuse, right?

Or do you think a Christian can do those things and be automatically forgiven while doing them by just having a belief on Jesus?

I am asking: What kind of sins do you think are done by Christians that are the most common that are bad that Jesus just automatically forgives by them having a belief on Jesus?

Would this be lying?
How about cursing?
What about having lustful thoughts?

Yes Christians sin. And Jesus requires repentance to forgive, so if it's unconfessed, then I don't know how the forgiveness factor would come to play.

So potential loss of salvation can occur if they refuse to repent or confess their sin?

He died for our sins.

Not just 50% of them or past sins or those couple sins over there. All of them.

God gives victory over sin too, just ask and he will freely give.

George Sodini surely believed this, too. In his suicide letter he believed Jesus would pay the price for his future sins of murdering others and in taking his own life.

I believe what the word teaches.

1. We are dead to sin. Romans 6:2
2. A Christian cannot sin. 1 John 3:9
3. We are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit. Romans 8:9

However, when we read all of Scripture, we see that it is "willful" sin that the apostles are talking about. Some denominations teach that all sin is willful. No, willful sins are sins unto death. But there are sins that are NOT unto death. We find in Leviticus 5:15 that trespasses are not "willful" sins, they are unwittingly committed. So there are imperfections of character or fruit of the Spirit that we commit, but are not knowingly committing a "sin." So what happens to these sins if we don't even know we commit them and cannot name them to repent? 1 John 1:7 talks of walking in the Spirit, but at the end sins are being cleansed. I see those as these trespasses that we don't even know we are committing, and Jesus, our Advocate, cleanses them.

Therefore, when we come to Christ and are baptized with His Spirit, all our past sins are taken out of us - willful sins and trespasses. We are completely cleansed. We don't even have a desire to commit them any more. Jesus frees us from sin. John 8:34-36. And the Spirit empowers us to fulfill the righteous requirements of the law. Some denominations erroneously teach that Jesus blood merely covers our sin, while they are still there. And only when we receive a new body are they taken away. Rubbish! They are confusing the blood of bulls and goats with the blood of Jesus. Jesus' blood is powerful and cleanses us completely - Now! Even the desire is gone.

Trespasses become less and less as we grow in the Holy Spirit, maturing the fruit. As we grow in love, our sensitivity to others grows.

You are giving a denominational and unscriptural implication that our future sins are forgiven. But Jesus died to take away the whole sin nature, thus with the desire to commit any sins eradicated, there won't be any "future" sins. 1 John 3:9

2 Peter 1:9 and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

Those are old willful sins. The only "future" sins that are automatically forgiven are sins we commit unintentionally, and unknowingly, while we walk in the Spirit. Then, yes, those are forgiven. But absolutely not willful sins committed with our full knowledge. That is rebellion against God, and are as the sin of witchcraft.

Cursing probably, but it should be confessed. As far as lying, the new testament prohibits what we today call fraud, meaning lying to obtain something. That wouldn't be covered. If the fish that got away is a lot bigger by the time you get home, I don't know.

The way of the cross is like a sea saw. It is weighted over time. There are two sides to us. The flesh, and the Spirit. If we invest purely in the flesh, we begin to be over come by it. If we weight to the Spirit, by prayer and obedient living, we draw ourselves upward away from death. Jesus said "Pray that you enter not into temptation, for the flesh is weak but the Spirit willing". That verse is loaded, as we pray, make God our focus, we will not sin as much. If we ignore God, the weak flesh will dominate us.

Then we need to look at how God judges in the end. He says of the last days,

2Th 2:9-12 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Note that God Himself sends people Strong Delusion, that they will not believe the truth, and why, the scripture is clear, they had pleasure in unrighteousness, and sin.

Why is this important? Well yes a Christian is saved by Grace, not by what they do or do not do. But in reality we are not saved 100% by Grace, we are saved by our connection to Christ, our love for the truth. If we love sin more than God, Jesus may spit us out of his mouth.

Rev 3:15-16 “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.

I would not agree that all sin is automatically forgiven. There is a requirement for repentance. I do not however believe that there is any sin that cannot be covered by the Blood of Jesus. Provided that you have faith in the grace of God and the works of Jesus. You seem to be asking the old question that Paul answered in Romans 6:1.

Sure, if we repent of them, and move on. Do you not know we are to repent of our sins? If we sin without concern on a regular basis/live in that sin, we got a problem, plain and simple.

Exactly, that is the general idea anyway, and personally, though not perfect, it has worked for me and I've cut way down, and hope to get better/more mature with time.
