I think our sermons are neutral. Focusing on what it says rather than what theologians say that it means.

We leave some things for individuals to decide for themselves. This is one, though I know which way our pastor leans. He doesn't push such things on anyone. I agree with his belief, however.

I attended a Bible study at a local Baptist church last week and the rapture kept coming up and the study had nothing to do with the rapture. It was inserted into every passage we read. Weird.

Good people though.

Twin is speaking to the Dispensational interpretation of scripture as being a man made system. He's not claiming the Bible is man made.

I've attended Baptist and Pentecostal churches and read the Statement of Faith for many, churches and organizations. Never have I seen the Rapture or any part of Eschatology being part of their Statement of Faith.

The 100% scriptural comment was regarding the rapture 1st Thessalonians 4:17, not my opinion .
Remember Paul talk of this event as a mystery.

I am sorry but you are incorrect. Paul’s use of the word mystery is in the context of the Gentiles being grafted in. He speaks of the making of two into one man by faith. It was a mystery which was not revealed until the preaching of the Gospel to both Jew and Gentile.

As to 1Thess. 4:17 Paul isn’t talking about a supposed “rapture” but about the one time second coming of Christ. The Scriptures nowhere teach a “rapture”.

You are entitled to your opinion, but I completely disagree. Paul was not talking about the Second Coming of Christ (where He Christ actually steps on earth) unlike the rapture where the dead in Christ since Pentacost and present believers meet the Lord in the air.
Rapture and the Second Coming are two distinctive events.
One before the 7 year tribulation and the other after the 7 year tribulation .
The mystery that Paul speaks of is clearly the rapture NOT the Second Coming.
