"Facing your accuser" doesn't always mean "staring" at them. It basically means that you get to be there when they make the accusations to a judge or jury and are there to respond to those accusations. It has nothing to do with intimidation.

When he was the front runner, the women came out of the woodwork making accusations of sexual misconduct against him--right up until he finally dropped out of the race. That's when all those women dropped their accusations. Funny how that works.

I'm glad to hear that. Right now in this country, there are people in the mainstream Press who seem to think we should believe was Ms. Ford is saying about Kavanaugh already. Wow, you got all that fatalistic logic from what I wrote. Its a phenomenon all too common in our culture, sex scandal trumps substance. If there is a diversionary tactic at work here its that an accusation like this doesnt have to be substatianted, and there is much to be gained politically. Since the Gary Hart Monkey Business sex scandal has been center stage. Its not misinformation, it diversion and in this case a stalling tactic. Personally I think Ford just made the whole thing up. Dont get me wrong, I dont like Trump and would love to see this nomination withdrawn. Just not like this.

None of it matters because, yes, as far as the theater show of politics, everything has already been determined indeed. You get to choose what psychology to absorb from what you are viewing. But, that still doesn't matter as much as the hax on your brain - bombarding you with emotionalism so that you get used to judging based on feelings, and ultimately living through passion.

This is a long con; it is meant to resonate over generations of development. Kavanaugh will still get the nomination no matter what happens, but it will be another Anita Hill type of show - unique in its own way.

I was a teenager in the 80s. Guys who did what Kavanaugh is accused of were called “monsters”. And rightfully so.

Any attempt to say that behavior wasn’t as bad in the 80’s is disgusting...

I don't know what he is accused of. I don't read much soap opera news. My statement was based on the generalized info in this thread. The point of my post was that many of you have already judged the man without a trial, and that none of you have enough information to do so. There's a reason we have a court system and juries who have to laboriously go over every detail and circumstance.

All will be accountable to God for every careless word spoken (Matthew 12:36) and gossip. I'm sure there's a reason that "slander" is placed next to "gossip" in 2 Corinthians 12:20 and "idlers" and "saying things they ought not to" is next to gossip in 1 Timothy 5:13.

And while I'm annoyed I might as well mention that God receives what everyone says about Trump as if we are speaking to Him, and will be judged accordingly.

He was on the Ken Starr team, he was there during the Florida Gore v Bush recount, then worked for Bush. This guy has been neck deep in political controversy, always siding with the hard right. He is a partisan hack and yet another naked attempt to stack the court with partisan surregates. He is unfit for the position and incapable of making unbiased decisions. I dont like him because he is unqualified for those reasons. I think Ford is making her allegations up but that doent mean I think he deserves to sit on the Supreme Court.

Nobody claims to have witnessed the event but Ford. To say that he was in the room presumes Ford's credibility, which is what the hearing is supposed to establish. If he doesn't want to testify, then I don't see that there's enough evidence to subpeona him.
