If one can come up with a precise day and time when the 70 weeks initially started, and assuming no gaps until completion, how hard should it be to come up with the precise day and time it allegedly finished? Shouldn't be hard at all. I would like to know when the 70 weeks allegedly finished, so I can then see if anything in history was special about that day in particular. And since I believe there is a gap between the 69th and 70th week, I'm not the one that needs to provide a precise day and time the 70 weeks allegedly finished. The ones claiming no gap need to provide this since it seems odd they can know precisely when the 70 weeks began, but can't know precisely when they end, while at the same time claiming they have already ended.
It looks like the 70 weeks of Daniel is a popular topic in Christianity today, so I thought I would create one and include a poll. I also am interested in discussing this.

YLT)
Daniel 9:
24 ‘Sevens, seventy are determined for thy people, and for thy holy city, to shut up the transgression, and to seal up sins, and to cover iniquity, and to bring in righteousness age-during, and to seal up vision and prophet, and to anoint the holy of holies.
25 And thou dost know, and dost consider wisely, from the going forth of the word to restore and to build Jerusalem till Messiah the Leader [is] seven weeks, and sixty and two weeks: the broad place hath been built again, and the rampart, even in the distress of the times.
26 And after the sixty and two weeks, cut off is Messiah, and the city and the holy place are not his, the Leader who hath come doth destroy the people; and its end [is] with a flood, and till the end [is] war, determined [are] desolations.
27 And he hath strengthened a covenant with many — one week, and [in] the midst of the week he causeth sacrifice and present to cease, and by the wing of abominations he is making desolate, even till the consummation, and that which is determined is poured on the desolate one.’

It looks like the 70 weeks of Daniel is a popular topic in Christianity today, so I thought I would create one and include a poll. I also am interested in discussing this.

Translations can vary so I will use this one:

YLT)
Daniel 9:
24 ‘Sevens, seventy are determined for thy people, and for thy holy city, to shut up the transgression, and to seal up sins, and to cover iniquity, and to bring in righteousness age-during, and to seal up vision and prophet, and to anoint the holy of holies.
25And thou dost know, and dost consider wisely, from the going forth of the word to restore and to build Jerusalem till Messiah the Leader [is] seven weeks, and sixty and two weeks: the broad place hath been built again, and the rampart, even in the distress of the times.
26And after the sixty and two weeks, cut off is Messiah, and the city and the holy place are not his, the Leader who hath come doth destroy the people; and its end [is] with a flood, and till the end [is] war, determined [are] desolations.
27And he hath strengthened a covenant with many — one week, and [in] the midst of the week he causeth sacrifice and present to cease, and by the wing of abominations he is making desolate, even till the consummation, and that which is determined is poured on the desolate one.’

Per that translation, as to verse 27, it makes it clear that the 'he' who causeth the sacrifice and present to cease, is the same one who by the wing of abominations is making desolate. If that translation doesn't prove a gap, what does it prove? Does it prove the he meant in that verse is meaning Christ? I don't see how since the part about by the wing of abominations he is making desolate, couldn't possibly fit Christ.

All of the "he's" in the passage refer to Messiah. He used the pagan Roman armies, abominations to the Jews, as His agents of judgment, punishment, and desolation.

I might add, in similtude, there is a gap in Ezekiel 39.

16 And also the name of the city shall be Hamonah. Thus shall they cleanse the land. [gap to the battle of Armageddon, 7 years later]

17 And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.

If a person understands the gaps [in both Daniel 9 and Ezekiel 39], and understands that becoming the Antichrist requires the person to be anointed the King of Israel (illegitimate); and the leaders of Israel, Moses required to confirm the Mt. Sinai covenant on a for 7 years basis - then a person will have a pretty good basis to understand the rest of the end times.

Without this knowledge, a person cannot understand the end times.

Daniel Chapter 9: Dr. Kelly Varner

The following comes from the 1599 Geneva Bible, which is the Bible the Pilgrims brought to America, before John Nelson Darby showed up on our shores with his Two Peoples of God doctrine.

Dan 9:27 And he shal confirme the couenant with many for one weeke: and in the middes of the weeke he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the ouerspreading of the abominations, he shall make it desolate, euen vntill the consummation determined shalbe powred vpon the desolate.

Daniel 9:27
And he (a) shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to (b) cease, (c) and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

(a) By the preaching of the Gospel he affirmed his promise, first to the Jews, and after to the Gentiles.

(b) Christ accomplished this by his death and resurrection.

(c) Meaning that Jerusalem and the sanctuary would be utterly destroyed because of their rebellion against God, and their idolatry: or as some read, that the plague will be so great, that they will all be astonished at them.

How does your post and video change history? There were around 40 years, a gap, between the messiah being cutoff and the destruction of the city and sanctuary (temple) in 70 AD.

Dan 9 has a major gap.
Lets look at the last part.

And after the sixty-two weeks

the 62 week ended when Jesus was introduced as messiah to Israel. As per the OT prophet

Zechariah 9:9
[ The Coming King ] “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.

Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;

Occured 1 week later when jesus was crucified on the cross.

And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.

Occurred a few decades later. when the roman people by the lead of Titus destroyed the city and sanctuary (70 Ad) so we already have a few decade gap)

The end of it shall be with a flood,

And till the end of the war desolations are determined.

speaks of a period of time when there will be a period of wars, this time which is determined. Jesus spoke of this in his day in matt 24, when he said at the end kingdom will rise against kingdom, and nation against nation, there will be wars and rumors of wars but the END IS NOT YET.

This period is still ongoing, this the gap has been over 2000 years already.

27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.”

Has yet to happen, Spoken of by Jesus himself. Will occur AFTER wars and rumors of wars. AFTER kingdom rises against kingdom and nation against nation, The prince who does this is the prince who is to come, of the people who destroyed the city and sanctuary (Daniels reformed roman empire) The sanctuary will remain desolate until the consummation, which again is predetermined amount of time, is poured out on the desolate. Jesus called this the great tribulation, which will be so great, no flesh will survive if he did not return, This 1 week, or 7 year treaty confirmed with many is the last week of Daniels 70. At the end of this, The time of the gentile will end (the time determined) and the people of Israel will repent. Which is answer to Daniels prayer.

the prayer of Daniel is concerning Israel and the temple and the city of Jerusalem. The gap is inserted because as Jesus said before he was cut off.. The truth had been hidden from them. they had their chance and rejected it, so now they too will be cut off according to lev 26. the final week occures after Israel is restored in some way, In the land, yet still in sin, The time of Jacobs trouble (tribulation) is used to bring Israel to repentance.

All of the "he's" in the passage refer to Messiah. He used the pagan Roman armies, abominations to the Jews, as His agents of judgment, punishment, and desolation.

Per that interpretation then, apparently that would have to mean that this part in verse 26---and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined---is referring to this part in verse 27----and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

What debunks that though, that would logically place this part in verse 27 outside of the 70th week----and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Yet the context of verse 27 is the 70th week, all of that verse, which includes that part as well.

Verses 26 and 27 refer to events both within the contiguous 70th week, and beyond it.

The references to events beyond the 70th week do not invalidate the references to events within the 70th week.

The Hebrew is really quite complex to me and so the best I can do is at least put up a rough word for word translation from an interlinear, including the strong's #.
Strong's Concordance with Hebrew and Greek Lexicon

Daniel 9:26:

And after<310 the sevens<620> sixty<8346 and two<8147>

shall be cut off<3772> anointed-one<4899>

and there is nothing<369> to-him
and the city<5892>

369 'ayin ah'-yin as if from a primitive root meaning to be nothing or not exist; a non-entity; generally used as a negative particle:-
5892 `iyr eer or (in the plural) par {awr}; or ayar (Judges 10:4) {aw-yar'}; from 5782 a city

and the sanctuary<6944> he shall ruin<7843>
6944 qodesh ko'-desh from 6942; a sacred place or thing; rarely abstract, sanctity:--consecrated (thing), dedicated (thing), hallowed (thing), holiness, (X most) holy (X day, portion, thing), saint, sanctuary.
7843 shachath shaw-khath' a primitive root; to decay, i.e. (causatively) ruin (literally or figuratively):--batter, cast off, corrupt(-er, thing), destroy(-er, -uction), lose, mar, perish, spill, spoiler, X utterly, waste(-r).

people<5971> of ruler/chief<5057> the one-coming<935>
5971 `am am from 6004; a people (as a congregated unit); specifically, a tribe (as those of Israel);
5057 nagiyd naw-gheed' or nagid {naw-gheed'}; from 5046; a commander (as occupying the front), civil, military or religious; generally (abstractly, plural), honorable themes:--captain, chief, excellent thing, (chief) governor, leader, noble, prince, (chief) ruler.
935 bow' bo a primitive root; to go or come (in a wide variety of applications):--abide, apply, attain, X be, befall, + besiege, bring (forth, in, into, to pass),

and end-of-him<7093> in-overflowing<7858>

7093 qets kates contracted from 7112; an extremity; adverbially (with prepositional prefix) after:--+ after, (utmost) border, end, (in-)finite, X process.
7858 sheteph sheh'-tef or sheteph {shay'-tef}; from 7857; a deluge (literally or figuratively):--flood, outrageous, overflowing.

5704 `ad ad properly, the same as 5703 (used as a preposition, adverb or conjunction; especially with a preposition); as far (or long, or much) as, whether of space (even unto) or time (during, while, until) or degree (equally with):
7093 qets kates contracted from 7112; an extremity; adverbially (with prepositional prefix) after:--+ after, (utmost) border, end, (in-)finite, X process.
4421 milchamah mil-khaw-maw' from 3898 (in the sense of fighting); a battle (i.e. the engagement); generally, war (i.e. warfare):--battle, fight(-ing), war((-rior)).

Verses 26 and 27 refer to events both within the contiguous 70th week, and beyond it.

The references to events beyond the 70th week do not invalidate the references to events within the 70th week.

That's because in order for your theory to seemingly work, you need it meaning that. But if I am correct that the context in verse 27 only involves the 70th week, and not outside of it as well, it clearly debunks your theory then. The only way it couldn't, there would have to be a gap in the 70th week itself. I don't see you agreeing to that though, nor do I see anyone agreeing to that.

One thing I do agree with you about though---and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined---this is referring to this----and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Where that in turn also involves this----and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease. This is what destroys your interpretation. Per your interpretation there is no connection with this part with that of the other parts in verse 27 and the part in verse 26 above.

Your theory demands a gap of indeterminate length, currently more than 1900 years and counting, with no historically verifiable events.

Scripture's gap is historically verifiable both in its length of about 40 years, and in the events which are described as associated with it.

Which gap is the most plausible?

The 40 year does not fit, because not all the stuff occured in that time, there was not even an abomination of desolation, titus destroyed the temple, he did not put an abomination which makes it desolate.

Everything described occurred.

The abomination of desolation was the appearance of the pagan Roman armies, abominations to the Jews; advancing upon the holy city of Jerusalem.

The desolation which they inflicted was essentially complete by 70 AD.

Matthew 24
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand)

Luke 21
20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

There are 2 comings of Christ. In order to fulfill all of Daniel 9:24-27, it involves two comings. The 2nd coming is hidden in the text, but is revealed via the NT, and because of the first coming, which then led to an ascension into heaven, there is then a 2nd coming. The gap is during the ascension into heaven, plus the 70th week itself takes place during the ascension into heaven. Once the 70th week is fulfilled though, it leads to the 2nd coming.

Verse 27 is focusing on the end of this age, which leads to the 2nd coming. Verse 27 is not meaning in a literal sense where it might involve a brick and mortar temple. Verse 27 is meaning the 42 month reign of the beast per Revelation 13. Where it is also meaning much of 2 Thessalonians 2, and some of Daniel 7, 8, 11 and 12, to name a few. It also connects with the GT mentioned in the Discourse. Your interpretation apparently denies all of these connections.

I recommend you need to study all of daniel my friend, because daniel gives us an example of what an abomination which causes desolation looks like, with antiochus epiphanies (dan 11 greece commits an abomination of desolation causing sacrifice to cease) slaughtered a pig in the holy of holies (the little an abomination of desolation occures when an unclean object is placed in the holy of holies, making it unclean, and thus making it desolate)

That did not occure in 70ad, in 70ad, the people of the future price DESTROYED the city and sanctuary. The abomination comes later, After the wars after the time aloted which is predetermined, which continues to this day.
