I was saved from a life of using a drug called dexteomethorphan as a supplement to my Christian life. I justified it with every ounce of my being and fought for my right to use it.
The bible calls such a thing sorcery. sorcerers in the old testament are referred to in the context of using any chemical that alters normal rational thought (one verse refers to sorcerers who go about with their concoctions tied around their neck). I had to face the fact that I was commiting sorcery and the Holy Spirit convicted me of it. I pray you will avoid DMT because it will take you down the same street. Justifying your drug use and fighting for that instead of fighting for the gospel.
In the book of revelation the word for sorcery has its root in what we get our modern word for pharmacy from. That was eye opening to me.

Are you against over the counter drugs and pain killers as well? Some of these alter normal rational thoughts also.

I like it when people are all the way in or all the way out.....cant really stand by the luke warm. Your opinion is well taken and respected.

I also want to add that I was a drug addict and I was abusing the substances. Legit meds are legit, but I'm staying away from narcotics because I can't handle them.

I believe that DMT has interacted with Christianity. All you have to do is look in scripture.

In Genesis 32:30 Jacob says, he saw God face to face and calls the place Peniel .

I also believe Moses was in an altered state when he met with god.

I hear a lot of people say that too. I've heard none of them point to any laboratory documentation that directly shows that.

What I will say is Tryptamine is found in numerous mammals however nothing I have found shows that N,N-Dimethyltryptamine (aka DMT) is naturally occurring in your body.

A study published in 2014 reported the biosynthesis of N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT) in the human melanoma cell line SK-Mel-147 including details on its metabolism by peroxidases.

In a 2014 paper a group first demonstrated the immunomodulatory potential of DMT and 5-MeO-DMT through the Sigma-1 receptor of human immune cells. This immunomodulatory activity may contribute to significant anti-inflammatory effects and tissue regeneration

Hello, I'm wondering how DMT use has interacted with Christianity. Has anyone ever used it? What did you learn about yourself. What does God think about this substance? DMT is a psychedelic drug that is said to be the most powerful experience ever induced when ingested. I have no interest in using it myself.

I have been interested in it myself, but I agree with others from a Christian stand point it is bad. I think people like Joe Rogan who are promoting it are leading people into New Age Spiritism. Unlike the other psychedelics, it doesn't seem to have a well known history of frying people's brains. But the whole "machine elves" thing pretty much seems to fit into mediumism.

Fully agree with all of this. People who undergo this experience, typically already atheist/agnostic or New Age already, see no need for Christ afterward and are given some idea of their own divinity.
