It is unfortunate that we Christians have been telling the unsaved, including those who have never heard the gospel, that they will burn in hell for all eternity. There are millions upon millions who have lived and died, never having heard the gospel, and we say that it is "just" for God to assign them to hell forever, although they had no chance of being saved.

Well-meaning Christians will jump all over this post, believing that they are actually defending God and His word, even though they are not. At the same time, they perpetuate the lie that he is an unjust monster, creating humans destined for hell unless they receive the Savior, most of whom never hear a word about, until they arrive at judgment when it's too late.

If you would like to hear the whole story of a good and just God and have a true explanation of an essential question, go to www.WhoGoesToHell.com for a brief video summary and the readable study online.

When Adam ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he brought two things into the world.

1. "Death" because he disobeyed God.

2. "The knowledge of good and evil" because he ate from the tree that imparted that knowledge.

Since we have been given the knowledge of good and evil, we can determine what is "good" from what is "evil", and what is "just" from what is "unjust".

The scenario

A man, "John", was driving his car through various towns on his journey. He unknowingly crossed an unmarked town line. A town police officer pulled him over, telling him that he was going 30 MPH in a 29 MPH zone. John said that there were no signs indicating that the speed limit was 29 MPH and that he was only 1 MPH over the limit, even if there were signs (and there were none).

The officer said, I am not the judge, you are under arrest. John was brought before the judge.

John pleaded with the judge saying that there were actually no signs indicating the speed limit, and had there been signs, he would have obeyed.

The judge sentenced him to life in prison with no possibility of appeal or parole.

QUESTION: Is this "Just" or "Unjust" sentencing?

(This is where Christians jump in to defend God's honor, when in reality, they are defending a doctrine that paints him as an unjust monster.)

Traditional Christian doctrine says that anyone who does not receive Jesus as Savior, even if they never even had the opportunity to hear a single word of the gospel, will burn in hell for all eternity.

Here is what Jesus said...

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3)

Jesus says that there are two possibilities, "perish" (death as a consequence of Adam's sin) or "everlasting life", life that only Jesus can give.

Jesus "saves" us from death and gives us "everlasting life". That is "salvation". That happens when we accept his sacrifice and exchange our "mortality" for "immortality".

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
(1 Corinthians 15)

Those who have never heard the gospel "perish" and return to the dust because they were not able to "put on immortality", never having heard of the Savior or his good news covenant.

God's judgment upon Adam (and the world because of Adam)...

17 To the man he said: Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, You shall not eat from it,

Cursed is the ground because of you!
In toil you shall eat its yield
all the days of your life.
18 Thorns and thistles it shall bear for you,
and you shall eat the grass of the field.
19 By the sweat of your brow
you shall eat bread,
Until you return to the ground,
from which you were taken;
For you are dust,
and to dust you shall return.

There is no mention of being resurrected into an eternal existence and being sentenced to hell for all eternity. That is a far greater incentive to obey had Adam been warned...

Then... It is only after we have entered the covenant and have been born again by the spirit can we "strive to enter" our promised "inheritance" which has conditions of entry. These conditions are the expectations of the "Lord" over his "servants", those to whom he has given "salvation" and a promised place that they must value and possess. See the parable of the Treasure hidden in a field, the pearl of great price, the parable of the talents, and others...

Most of the parables are illustrations of those who "enter the kingdom of heaven" having met the Lord's reasonable expectations and those who fail to meet them and are cast out. The "servants" who fail to meet his clearly defined expectations of their "Lord" are sent somewhere... Outer darkness where there will be gnashing of teeth in every case.

Examine the relationships in the following parable. All three individuals are defined as "servants" of the same "Lord". Their Lord comes to "settle accounts" with his servants. In order to be a "servant" of the "Lord", you must receive the covenant that only Jesus offers. Then, and only then, will there be an expectation of the Lord for "productivity"...

The Parable of the Talents

14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.

17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.

18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.

19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, you knew that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:

27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.

28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 25

These "servants" have been given eternal life. They have "put on immortality". They can never die. They go to where eternal beings like Satan and the rebellious angels under judgment go... Hell.

Those who do not accept the covenant of everlasting life from Jesus, whether they have heard of it or not, "perish", just as Jesus said they will.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3)

Those who receive his covenant are given eternal life and will be asked by "their Lord" to demonstrate that they have valued the kingdom promised "inheritance" that was theirs to "enter", when their Lord comes to settle accounts with His "servants".

The parables reveal the mystery of the "requirements" to possess what the Lord has purchased for those who receive his covenant of "salvation" from death and promise of and "inheritance", the kingdom of heaven...

John 3:16 also answers the question, "Whoever believes in Him shall not perish". It requires a belief in Him not to perish. It doesn't say, "God so loved the world that no one will perish." Sorry, but if you didn't believe in Christ, you will perish. And that's why Christians are out there, in the streets, preaching the gospel throughout the world.

It's reality. It's like saying, "Don't stick your finger in the socket or you'll get shocked!" Shouldn't we warn the unbelievers?

Yes. For two reasons:

1. That is the testimony of the Bible, the word of God. If there are some exceptions, that is for God to know and decide, not us.

2. Your statement seems to suggest that God must consider those people as worthy of salvation because they never heard the Gospel. In reality, they would not wind up in hell for that reason but because of what they themselves have done in life.

If in theory they had never sinned, you might have a point; but of course there is no person who has lived a sinless life (other than Jesus, of course).

Define the word Jesus used: "Perish"

KJV Dictionary Definition: perish

PER'ISH, v.i.L. pereo, supposed to be compounded of per and eo, to go; literally, to depart wholly.

1. To die; to lose life in any manner

2. To die; to wither and decay; applied to plants.

3. To waste away; as, a leg or an arm has perished.

4. To be in a state of decay or passing away.

5. To be destroyed; to come to nothing.
"Perish" does not mean: "To be cast into hell for all eternity".

If we refuse to accept the meaning of the words that Jesus uses, then we can make up any doctrine. Look up every use of the word "perish". Then, and only then, can we surely say that it does not mean and "eternal sentence to hell", not even once.

If we accept the meaning of the word "perish", then "salvation" is from the curse of "death" that Adam brought upon the world, and "everlasting life" is what Jesus gives to "save" us. Hell is for "eternal" beings, those who are "immortal", not "mortal". The only way humans become "immortal" is when they accept "everlasting life" from Christ...

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Jesus said everyone would “perish” unless he gave us an “everlasting” life, a life that does not perish.

Since we know that all who live, will perish biologically being mortal, then we know that Jesus was not talking about perishing biologically (since even those who believe in him still perish biologically).

Question: If Jesus was not speaking about the body perishing, then what exactly will “perish” (Defined as: die, lose life, come to nothing, depart wholly) if he does not give “everlasting” life?

Question: If everyone continues to live on “eternally” after the death of their body in heaven or hell forever, then what exactly does Jesus give that is “everlasting”, that those who “perish”, do not receive?

Your dirty if your not cleansed-sanctified by the Word of God, Christ.
All people have sinned, will sin, and God already said the soul that sins shall die.

"Sinners" are those who have accepted the covenant and do not obey. As you said, no one can obey and we need a Savior. That is the covenant. Those who have never entered the covenant have no "eternal life", no hope of resurrection from the dead...because they remain "dead". They "perish".

23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.

24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
"Believers" are resurrected. Jesus is the "resurrection" and "the life". Those who never heard about the "salvation" covenant simply "perish". It is not "punishment" for sin. It is a tragic result of what Adam brought into the wold, "death"...

19 By the sweat of your brow
you shall eat bread,
Until you return to the ground,
from which you were taken;

For you are dust,
and to dust you shall return.

There is no mention of being resurrected into an eternal existence and being sentenced to hell for all eternity. That is a far greater incentive to obey had Adam been warned...

Look, there are plenty of slants on this subject given in Scripture, but the issue was defined here as being salvation for someone who had never heard the Gospel. The story of the talents does not address that situation.

2. No, never suggested that those who never heard the gospel are worthy of salvation because they never heard the gospel. I am stating that they simply "perish" and go to the dust, just as God said to Adam would be the consequences of his death sentence.

God does not punish the innocent (righteous) is true, recall Abraham talking to God when Sodom was to be destroyed. Believers in Christ, God has forgiven them of their sins for sake of the name of Christ. Their sins and transgressions he remembers no more, meaning they do not come under judgement, but have passed from death into life. But all still are judged by God for the deeds done in the body to receive from Him either good or bad. So these sins are not forgotten like as in they never happened, just the sentence of eternal death, He passes over, Christ is our passover lamb.

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

For anyone to be saved, they must be born again, monergistically, according to His will, or they will not enter the kingdom of heaven. I as a Calvinist, know God does this everyday for people like infants and young children who die, they are to be numbered among the elect.

19 By the sweat of your brow
you shall eat bread,
Until you return to the ground,
from which you were taken;

Take a look for a complete understanding: www.WhoGoesToHell.com

If ignorance was accounted as escape from hell sending missionaries would be worst thing you could do , should build wall around such people and keep them in ignorance .

Ephesians 2:12
“That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:”

Romans 1:20 King James Version (KJV)
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Also don't assume that person which never had preacher preach to them would accept Christ if preacher would be sent , it might be that unbeliever would remain in thier unbelief only incrasing his/her punishment for rejecting truth .

Your dirty if your not cleansed-sanctified by the Word of God, Christ.
All people have sinned, will sin, and God already said the soul that sins shall die.

Perfect!

Your dirty if your not cleansed-sanctified by the Word of God, Christ.
All people have sinned, will sin, and God already said the soul that sins shall die.

We are not "saved" from being "dirty". We are "saved" from "death", the consequence of Adam's sin that he brought upon the world. We did not "sin" that brought this consequence. We were born under the condemnation of Adam's sin. We were born "dead". We were without hope. We had no covenant which to obey, or disobey, until the Lord offers it. Then, we will accept his offer of "eternal life" from "death", or reject it, or never having heard of it, resulting in "death".

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not, is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3

"Condemned already"? Yes, condemned to "death", the consequence of having been born into the world that Adam's sin caused to result in "death". That is why we "must be born again"...

If we accept his offer of "eternal life", we are headed toward a promised "inheritance" that has requirements of entry clearly defined in the word. If we reject the offer of Life", we do not receive "life", remain "dead" and will not be resurrected.

The final judgement is for "servants" who either will, or will not, enter the kingdom of heaven "inheritance" that was purchased and guaranteed to those who have entered the covenant with Christ.

If you do not agree, please explain the parable of the Lord, his Servants and the Talents above. Who are the characters representing? What are their relationships?

Did you really quote, "the soul that sins shall die."? That is precisely the point!

Actually all are resurrected, but not all to the resurrection of life, some are resurrected to condemnation.
As Paul says in v15, and Christ in v29.

Acts 24:14-16 New King James Version (NKJV)
14 But this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets. 15 I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection [a]of the dead, both of the just and the unjust. 16 This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.

John 5:28-30 New King James Version (NKJV)
28 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. 30 I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.

Christ is the Life and the Resurrection for all people whether they heard or not or believed or not. No one will be left in the grave. those resurrected to condemnation go on to the Lake of Fire.

Revelation 20:5-7 New King James Version (NKJV)

5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

So even the dead live again, will be resurrected, but not to life, if there name is not written in the Lamb's book of Life.

No. Adam disobeyed a request from God.
His decision to do what he knew was wrong
is the knowledge of good and evil.

New International Version
If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn't do it, it is sin for them.

New Living Translation
Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.

English Standard Version
So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.

Berean Study Bible
Therefore, whoever knows the right thing to do, yet fails to do it, is guilty of sin.

19 For what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.
20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse.

' If we reject the offer of Life", we do not receive "life", remain "dead" and will not be resurrected. '

Paul is speaking about those of his brethren who "have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust.

The "just" and the "unjust" that have entered into the old or new covenant will be judged. The "dead", those not in covenant, will not be resurrected. They remain dead. They have "perished".

Correct!

Jesus was speaking to the Jews about "the graves" of the Jews. The Jews did not consider those who were not Jews, (those who were in covenant with God) to be "children of God" In fact, until the Jews rejected Jesus, Jesus did not refer to them (those outside of the covenant) to be "God's children" either."

25 For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:

26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.

27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.

28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs. Mark 7
Until the Jews rejected Jesus, the Gentiles had no covenant, no hope, no bread meant for "the children", and no resurrection from the dead. The Jews that were listening to Jesus, and Jesus Himself, was not referring to "the graves" of "the dogs", but only of those who had a covenant, making them "children of God".

The "dogs' would be redeemed later at the cross and given a covenant as well, making them "children of God". Then, and only if they heard and received their covenant, would they too would...

"hear His voice 29 and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation."
