  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If Hillary Clinton doesn't run for POTUS again

I voted for neither of them. Though for the record, more people voted for Hillary than for Donald Trump. Just not in the right states. At this point, I think she should go away.

But remember... Richard Nixon was thought to be politically dead. And he came back to win the big one. So who knows?

Apologies. I scooped up the wrong ones. Corrected now. Thanks.

I can't read the Post one. Could you give me the gist?

And as far as her appearance it Ozy Fest, is she supposed go hide in a cave for the rest of her life? Sarah Palin gave a speech at Mar-a-Lago last March. Did that mean she was campaigning? John Kerry gave a speech at a Martha's Vineyard film festival earlier this month. Does that mean he was campaigning? A high profile individual making an appearance or giving a speech does not mean they are campaigning for office.

The following is why it's reasonable to wonder if Hillary Clinton might run again:

Other countries know we hit the lotto with Trump, whether they admit it or not. In a short amount of time we’re no longer the weak kid on the block, scared of his own shadow. Our “stand-up president” is not liked to be sure, but our country is shown respect again (the bad boys are all hiding), maybe more than ever before. They’re no longer taking our lunch money. I can’t understand why anyone in the U.S. would want to go back to being the world’s wimp again.

If Hillary Clinton's loss in 2016 wasn't because of Hillary Clinton, if the presidency really was stolen away from her, as Democrats keep on saying, then why do Democrats act like just the idea of her running again brings them pain? Wouldn't Democrats be eager to have her run again if they really believe that there has never been anyone more qualified for it than her?

Clinton lost on her own merits, or lack of.

Every Democrat commentator on television talks constantly, day after day, about how they think Russia stole the 2016 election away from Hillary Clinton.
Trump brings it up often as well. I don’t catch many Democratic commentators so I’ll have to take your word for it.

I work at a place that has MSNBC playing all the time on their television. I have to walk past the television at various times of the day to get to where I have to go in the place, and every time I pass by it, no matter what random time of the day it is, they are talking about Trump and Russia and how they think Russia stole the election for Trump.
Must be a Yankee thing. It’s FoxBabeNews all the time here (the South).

Trump is the King of Wimps. So I guess we got what we deserved.

It is kind of weird to see how compromised the current POTUS appears to be.

If you had been alive 35 years ago you'd know that a Republican President would be the last person to have significant ties to a Russian KGB agent.

So give us a bit of a break. Most of us grew up in the Cold War and remember when the GOP warned us non-stop about how bad the Russian Bear was and how we should fear the KGB. Now our president seems to have one as his closest friend and ally.

Will her endorsement of whichever Democrat candidate hurt or help their chances of winning?

I don't know. I don't think the vast majority of Americans put stock in political endorsements from other politicians. I don't see that it has a sway either way on anyone.

That said, for me personally, any endorsement given by Hillary, is literally a reason for me to vote against them. Hillary is the most corrupt politician in my life time, and by a wide margin. Anyone she approves of, I automatically consider suspect.

No, we got a wimp. I’d elaborate but they told me at Camp Cupcake to be respectful of others feelings.

1. You have NO EVIDENCE of that
2. You have a skewed perspective on corrupt politicians.

1. I have decades of evidence of that.
2. If I gave you the impression I care what you think of me personally, I apologize for misleading you.
