If Mormon scriptures and leaders don't teach facts, you might be right. However:

"Latter-day revelation speaks of hell in at least two senses. First, it is the temporary abode in the spirit world for those who were disobedient in mortality. In this sense, hell has an end. The spirits there will be taught the gospel, and sometime following their repentance they will be resurrected to a degree of glory of which they are worthy. Those who will not repent, but are nevertheless not sons of perdition, will remain in hell throughout the Millennium. After these thousand years of torment, they will be resurrected to a telestial glory (D&C 76:81–86; 88:100–101)."

Book of Mormon, Alma 34
32 For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors.

33 And now, as I said unto you before, as ye have had so many witnesses, therefore, I beseech of you that ye do not procrastinate the day of your repentance until the end; for after this day of life, which is given us to prepare for eternity, behold, if we do not improve our time while in this life, then cometh the night of darkness wherein there can be no labor performed.

34 Ye cannot say, when ye are brought to that awful crisis, that I will repent, that I will return to my God. Nay, ye cannot say this; for that same spirit which doth possess your bodies at the time that ye go out of this life, that same spirit will have power to possess your body in that eternal world.

35 For behold, if ye have procrastinated the day of your repentance even until death, behold, ye have become subjected to the spirit of the devil, and he doth seal you his; therefore, the Spirit of the Lord hath withdrawn from you, and hath no place in you, and the devil hath all power over you; and this is the final state of the wicked.

There is absolutely nothing there that says you are the judge of what will happen to a person after they die. You are not the judge of who is wicked or not wicked. You are not the judge of who is worthy and who is not. Jesus Christ is the judge you can not take His place.

Christians love God and others. They also know Him.

John 10
15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
God does not do anything wrong so if you believe He does you don't know Him. There is only one way to know Him and that is to keep the commandments of love:

(New Testament | 1 John 2:3 - 6)

3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

FYI, I judged no one. I told people what Mormonism teaches. You are judging me.

I don't believe God ever does or ever did anything wrong. He has punished people and chastised people and shown His wrath; He has every right to do so.

The only way to know Him is to have His Spirit change our wicked hearts.

That is NOT what we teach. It is what you teach people that we teach. We teach that Jesus Christ will be our judge. He is the ONLY one who was given to be our judge by the Father. He has the total knowledge of mankind. You don't. You have NO idea how Jesus Christ will judge someone and neither do we.

I judged not one single person. I know what your lds.org says about your doctrine and the many subjects it covers. I provide all links that are available to quotes that I post. I never once said who will or will not be the judge.

To clarify LDS beliefs here: LDS in no way believe a person who stops going to church for whatever reason is going to burn for forever.

Phil 1:21 said: ?
Thank you.

You said: No, they will spend time in a temporary hell brought on by their disobedience. But afterwards they definitely will not have eternal life in the presence of the Father.

I'm happy to fill in the blanks left by those who fight against the truth that I share.

So I ask you to fill in the blanks. Show me where the LDS Church states that those who stop going to church for whatever reason will spend time in a temporary hell brought on by their disobedience. But afterwards they definitely will not have eternal life in the presence of the Father.

When my husband and I requested that our names be removed from the Mormon church records, we received individual letters informing us that we had been excommunicated and that we should repent. Many ex-Mormons received letters like that. Those letters didn't state what we should repent of.

While it is true that we believe that hell is a temporary place, the letter didn't say you were going to a temporary hell or that you definitely will not have eternal life. Jesus will be our judge and if we love Him we will keep His commandments.

News flash: Mormonism teaches that no one earns eternal life without all the ordinances; excommunicated members need to repent and be given permission to be re-baptized and they still need to go through all the temple ordinances. My supposed sin was not believing Joseph Smith was a prophet of God.

I love Jesus. No one is without sin. He saves sinners. I live for Him but I don't claim perfection. And I have eternal life.

Jesus was without sin making Him worthy to suffer by proxy for the sins of those who repent and do works meet for repentance:

(New Testament | Acts 26:20)

20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judæa, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

Everyone who is mercifully blessed with the new birth is going to follow the Shepherd. He has the Spirit and is a new creature. A new creature follows his Shepherd instead of Satan.

1 John 5
19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

2 Timothy 2
24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Romans 9
16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

Above all, the Church affirms that its members should seek personal revelation to know the truth and live in tune with the spirit of God. Those who have not done this may drop by the wayside when their faith is challenged or when difficulties arise.

Apostates sometimes become enemies of the Church. Leaving the Church, which claims to be God's official church, containing the fulness of the gospel, often results in feelings of guilt. While many return, others develop a need to defend their actions, "disprove" the Church, or become hostile enemies. The fruits of apostasy are generally bitter. The Book of Mormon warns of unfavorable conditions that result from transgression contrary to "light and knowledge" (Alma 9:23).

LDS scriptures establish a loving and hopeful attitude toward apostates. Latter-day Saints are strongly counseled to love those who have left the faith, and to encourage, plead, and work with those who have strayed, inviting "the lost sheep" back to the fold (Luke 15:3-7). Of the wayward, the resurrected Savior taught, "Ye shall not cast him out of your…places of worship, for unto such shall ye continue to minister; for ye know not but what they will return and repent, and come unto me with full purpose of heart, and I shall heal them; and ye shall be the means of bringing salvation unto them" (3 Ne. 18:32). The desire to return is motivated by the reality of repentance enabled by the Atonement of Jesus Christ. "He who has repented of his sins, the same is forgiven, and I, the Lord, remember them no more. By this ye may know if a man repenteth of his sins-behold, he will confess them and forsake them" (D&C 58:42-43).

I still love Mormons (even those who think I'm a lost sheep). Jesus rescued me. Christian Sheep Follow Their Shepherd.jpg

I know beyond any shadow of a doubt that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I have had trials in my life but they are nothing compared to the trials that Joseph Smith and some of the early pioneers faced. I am very thankful and honored by my pioneer ancestors and the trials they faced. Many of them paid with their lives. They were strong and valiant and will be eternally blessed for their efforts in their determination to do the will of God and serve their fellow man.

I know beyond a shadow of doubt that Joseph Smith was a false prophet and that Mormonism isn't true. Many people have been martyrs for Christ. All people face trials and always have; "the whole world lieth in wickedness." Everyone needs Jesus. God is my strength and salvation. I thank Him for the good and bad experiences. And I thank Him for the German girl who taught me to pray when I was very young.

That is my experience as well. In fact, the vast majority of ex-LDS folks (men or women) usually become staunch atheists.

Some do, as their faith in the bible has been destroyed with the lies of JS saying it can not be depended on because things have been removed from it, which is totally false. When they realize that JS is a false prophet they don't think of going back to the bible and seeing it for the revelation of Jesus Himself, they still foolishly believe the lies of a false prophet about the bible!! Slowly, I understand, that a lot of those former ex-LDS, former atheists, are coming back to the God of the bible. Praise God!

I may not agree with many tenets of your faith, but I thank you for the grace with which share it here.

It is not because their faith in the bible has been destroyed as you assume, it is because they can't accept the teachings of the other churches because they are foreign to the Bible. The Bible teaches people to KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS.

We can agree on these things. I hope that one day you will find out that everything I said in my post is true.
