  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Matthew 11:30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Trying to do works or good performance to enter heaven or be accepted by God is a heavy weight that no one can bear. That was the purpose of the law to show us how we can't perform to earn from God.

Romans 5:20 Now the law entered in, that sin might abound. And where sin abounded, grace did more abound.

So those who are trying to do works to earn or maintain their position with God is causing their sins to increase.

Isaiah 64:6 All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.

Now as if that is not enough, understand that filthy rags in Hebrew refers to a woman's used sanitary napkin. So what the works salvationist are planing on doing is dumping in Jesus lap a huge pile of used sanitary napkins. Since by the time anyone stands before God it will be a certain length of time, that means that works salvationist are offering napkins that have been laying around and aging.

I have gone away from God for a time and did some things that I never imagined before coming back. But I have never had it in my mind, when face to face to Jesus Himself that I would dump used sanitary napkins all over Jesus lap and throne - How disgusting.

Instead of offering used blood to God, I will offer only the pure, forever clean blood of Jesus for the payment of my sins. My standing before God is and will always be the Blood of Jesus and how right now I am pure, holy, sanctified and made righteous. As I live in this life, I am not trying to do any of those things to please God for Jesus death and resurrection worked.

As I live I am a child learning about who my family is and what that means. A child of Bill Gates should not go around sleeping with harlots and eating out of dumpsters. Why? Are they better than those who do? - No. But I would imagine their father would say, you are a Gates, you are better than that. As children in good rich homes grow up, they learn who they are and when they misbehave they are told you are better than that. Being taught what they are is what molds and changes them. Not beating them or saying you are only my child if you perform.

No one says to a two year old, perform or I will throw you into the oven and burn you alive. But works salvationist want us to believe that is who God is. Such people get thrown into jail for child abuse. So the works salvationist God should send himself to hell forever, because of justice if you can loose your salvation.

Thanks be to God and Jesus that he gives them eternal life and they shall NEVER EVER PERISH. In the greek, it means never ever, not just never.

That is the real rest and that is the light yoke. We are saved by grace and no matter what sins we do or may do we are forever saved. Your Daddy loves you and that will never change and He will never let you go.

Salvation is complicated when trying to understand it completely. I believe faith in Jesus helps us grow near to God. As we mature being lead by him in spirit becoming more like him, and less like ourselves as we were lead in flesh. While I agree there's nothing we can do, except have faith in Jesus who can. He's the Son of God who gave his life to the Father accordingly, denying himself to serve God's will. (Mark 14:36) Also gave himself to us, his followers by the breaking of bread and drinking of wine; Jesus served the disciples by washing their feet and teaching them the meaning of God's purpose for them. (Mark 14:22-24, Mark 8:34-35)

When asked what the greatest commandment is, he answered to love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength; the second is like it which is too love your neighbors as you do yourself. (Mark 12:29-31) If people loved God they'd listen when he calls them to serve, and the same for loving their neighbors who'd be served by them. Works itself isn't salvation, but service is an indicator of being fruitful in your faith. Not everyone is positioned in life to feed the poor and clothe the naked. Yet your faith can be tested by what you could do for God and neighbors loving them, whether you're following Christ who's savior (selfless) or yourself who's sinner (selfish). (Matthew 25:34-36, Matthew 25:40)

We are accepted in the Beloved (Ephesians 1:6) because we have been made righteous by the blood of Christ (Romans 5:9, Romans 5:19). This righteousness is practical (1 John 3:7, Matthew 5:6).

If someone begins to have faith and in time of temptation falls away (as in Luke 8:13), they have lost their salvation if their faith was a saving faith in the first place. It is evident from Luke 8:13 that they believed.

Those who abide in Jesus sin not (1 John 3:6). What this means is that when we come to Christ, we make a 180-degree turn away from sin, hell, and death and towards righteousness, heaven, and life. We begin to walk in the direction of righteousness in our lives. proverbs 4:18 says, But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Then it says in 1 John 2:17 that whosoever does the will of God abideth for ever. To me this speaks of eternal security: but for the saint, not the sinner.

It should be clear from such verses as Matthew 7:23 and Matthew 13:41-42 that workers of iniquity will not enter the kingdom.

Therefore, we need to be careful about OSAS doctrine. For the genuine believer, whose heart faith is unto righteousness (Romans 10:10), eternal security is definitely a promise and a comfort of the Holy Spirit. But if someone puts their trust in OSAS doctrine thinking that it is a license for them to go on sinning and still be saved, they are badly deceived; and if they begin to actually teach OSAS in such a way as to give sinners false hope, they are in danger of eternal damnation (Jude 1:3-4)

I agree that works are not the way to gain salvation. But as the Bible tells, if you love God, you keep His commandments.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous.
1 John 5:3

God’s law should not be obeyed to gain something, but because it is good and right. It is sad thing, if people don’t understand it and don’t have the wisdom of the just, because eternal life is a gift for righteous, not for those who continue in evilness.

These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
Mat. 25:46

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23
