Nah, I think Satan will more likely be put in a spiritual version of a supermax security prison.

Doesn't he stay in the bottomless pit because he's forbidden to leave and he obeys the Lord? It's interesting, he didn't obey the Lord when he sinned in heaven as lucifer.

He is not able to leave the abyss until Jesus lets him loose for a short time - that short time is a weeding out of rebellious people after the 1000 years , then when they plan to attack Gods people , fire comes down from heaven and destroys them and satan is then cats into the lake of fire forever , at that time all people who have been cast into the lake of fire at the great white throne judgment would see satan in the lake of fire , if they are able to see in the darkness

In reference to scale - some chemicals and elements burn hotter than others , no one has been in the lake of fire and returned to talk about so no one knows what color it is - scripture says 'outer darkness' so when speaking of flames people typically think of a fire like a house fire , but it depends on what is burning to determine how hot it will get

It could be the darkness refers to spiritual darkness not literal darkness.
