On Being a Disciple

For anyone that does not know me, I am an Orthodox-Catholic monk, which God called me to live in 2001. I have been cooperating with Christ for 40+ years.

If people want to be a disciple, begin by cooperating with our Lord, God, and Savior Jesus Christ. Follow what He wants you to do. But to ask him what color of shirt you should wear, or what color of car you drive is pointless. If you like red, go ahead and get a red car, if that's what you want. God is not going to ZOTZ you for choosing your favorite color for a car. He built you to like red, don't worry about it.

But if He calls you, then you should answer yes, and if He says jump, you yell "how high?" on the way up!

Never, ever forget He loves you, and that He will be kind and gentle.

I never really thought he was that worried about our clothes, in fact get the distinct impression from the Beatitudes that we worry too much about that. We do know some things about his will, starting with repentance and believing the one who makes the promise is faithful. It's been my experience when we finally start looking for God's will, we find that he has been looking for us a lot longer then we have been looking for him.
