What this is saying is that even tho He was God He did not think it was something to hold to so He lowered Himself as a servant of God. This is explaining why Jesus was subordinate to God The Father.
John 14
Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and you still do not know me? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
Well, according to scripture he did.
“IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD, AND THE WORD WAS WITH GOD, AND THE WORD WAS GOD. HE WAS IN THE BEGINNING WITH GOD. ALL THINGS WERE MADE THROUGH HIM, AND WITHOUT HIM WAS NOT ANY THING MADE THAT WAS MADE.”
By the way, what "WORD" is John referring too?
It was the combination of God, the Word and the Holy Spirit that created the universe. Jesus was Word becoming flesh. Jesus did not create the universe; it was already there when He came to the earth.
OkWe're all speaking of the same thing. That's Jesus in the Incarnation.. he existed well before this. "Before Abraham was, I am." The Word is the eternal Logos.. "The Let There Be Light!" in God's creation.
Yes, I had decided to leave, but there are others wanting to know more for the sake of truth. I don't lose anything by leaving this thread.
That's a false statement about Jesus Righttruth, and your words betray a misunderstanding about the nature of God.Jesus was God in bodily form.
you know what the alternative to that is? He was partly God. Can God even be 'partly' God?It doesn't mean He was fully God

exactly. Righttruth is believing something similar to the ancient heresy of Nestorius. The Word became flesh.
The eternal Word that created the universe took on flesh and was born as Jesus.
Jesus was, and is, the Word of God. He didn't stop being the Word when he was a human being.
With so many replies to take care of, I tend to be short. That's pretty terse. I didn't mean to offend or come off like I was being too corrective.. just in case.![]()
Sorry, but you're not speaking truth.
You're going against Scripture, the creed and the accepted doctrines of this forum and the mainline churches, and claiming that these are "doctrines of men" or "manipulations of Scripture" and not inspired by the Spirit.
As your username is Right truth, it seems you believe that you are correct and everyone else - all the 100s of 1000s of Christians - is mistaken.

The Word became flesh.

Jesus was, and is, the Word of God. He didn't stop being the Word when he was a human being.
Quite obviously, Jesus was praying to the Father.
