I been having a problem deciding which translation should be my go to Bible or Study Bible. I really like both, ASV and NASB.
Any input would be so greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much in advance and hoping you have a blessed day.

I prefer the NASB, but still love my grandfather's ASV. I prefer the newer English - still wishing the NASB translators had gotten rid of the Thees & Thous, but that aside, the NASB is still easier for me to read.

Frankly, I will always have my NASB, and I will always keep my ASV - but I have been leaning towards the ESV of late. Will see. :)

I love KJV but also NKJV :]
About 95% of my Non-Denominational church uses the KJV. I have tried to use the KJV, but it really is tough for me. I tend to gravitate to my NASB but my wife bought me a new ESV Study Bible for Christmas and I have to say I am starting to really like it. So, it is either one or the other. I guess someday I will choose. But, why? Both works for me right now.

ESV is fine. Dig in and enjoy my Brother :]

I am in the same situation. I love my NASB but I really like my new ASV Study Bible too that my wife got me for Christmas too. So, I have been using both.

That is a fine interpretation. Enjoy :]

I am going to read John in the RSV version and see how much I like that version. (Read bits and feels interesting.)

I too, have the hardest time trying to understand the KJV. Read it over and over and my mind goes in circles trying to figure it out. Personally, I use the NKJV (uses modern language), the NLT (very easy to read) and the AMP (brings out the full meaning of the text). When I'm just reading the Bible, I'll use either the NLT or the NKJV but when I'm studying or trying to figure something out, I'll use all 3, comparing each one to the other to get the full meaning.

I think the NASB is a better choice than its predecessor the ASV is (for most verses). The NASB MacArthur Study Bible is an excellent choice, and it will hopefully be available again in the Thompson Chain Reference Study Bible.

The NASB is my go-to translation, but I use the NKJV, ESV, AV, ASV, NIV, NET, HCSB, and even NLT (and others) on a regular basis as well (which I am blessed to have altogether as part of my Logos Bible Software).

I use the NASB as my favorite translation. It will be easier to find copies of and since it is still current (until the 2018 revision comes out) there are really good study bibles where the NASB is the underlying text. Another solid choice if you want to take the time to compare is the ESV. In a lot of cases the NASB will be more literal although the ESV will often be more literal depending on the text. All three are solid translations so it may come down to personal taste or ease of reading.

ASV hands down over NASB. NASB tries to instill a "gender-neutral" God than the "He" that He really should be. And this is just one example of why not to choose NASB.

ASV and KJV are still the best to go by for accuracy. I've only briefly looked at ESV so I cannot say about that one much, but so far so good.
