why should I believe in such a unresponsive God?
Many Christians say autism can not be healed by God, very rare cases God heals autism.
God can heal anything. His power is limitless. In fact, He is clear it is limited only by our faith. For years they told us brain cells could not be regenerated. Now, suddenly, they have reversed themselves. This is no surprise to the believer. We were way ahead of them. Don't get ripped off by the devil.
You may be familiar with the Battle of Britain in WW2. Early on in the war, the Nazis were triumphant everywhere they went, and they were driving the British off the continent. The British army was stranded at the seashore, hemmed in, and it looked extremely bad. Their only hope was that a vast armada of private boats would come and rescue them, a handful at a time.
Just before it was clear that the rescue would indeed come, the commander sent an update on the situation back to the homeland. It consisted of three simple words: "
But even if..."
Most today would miss the reference, but it is to the three young Hebrews in the book of Daniel, when they were being forced to bow before Nebuchadnezzar's idol, or to die in a hot oven. They defied the king and said their God was able to deliver them, "but even if" He didn't, they would not bow down and serve an idol.
Are you prepared to serve God even if you don't see your heart's desire come to pass in this life? That's the kind of faith He deserves, and nothing less. He is the king of all eternity, who has all power in His hand, and who never makes mistakes. And He is the Father who in love sent His Son to die in our place, to pay our ransom and bring us back home to Himself.
You never are going to find a better God or Savior. Walking away in unbelief is included in that; it is not an answer.
God tells us to believe; that all things are possible; that He is the God who heals. He says that Christ the healer is the same yesterday, today and forever.
He also tells us to persevere, to persist, and to be patient; that some unbelief comes out only by prayer and fasting.
The attitude I have chosen is that of the three young Hebrews. God is able to heal and deliver, and will heal and deliver. But even if he doesn't, I will serve no one else. If you make that attitude your own, in my estimation you have taken a major step toward winning the spiritual victory. And that often has to come first, before manifest victory can arrive.
