The problem is that Trump didn't win simply because of conservatives. He attracted a lot of people who are neither religious nor traditional. Many of them didn't care about Bill and Monica, or grew up in the hook up culture. Trying to claim moral outrage isn't going to bother them.

Yes, complaining about them getting punished with a baby, telling a woman that her old mother would just have to die rather than get a pace maker, and being such a good role-model by murdering innocent women and children. I really can't see why he hasn't been sainted yet.

But if it turns out they can tie this payoff to Trump directly it's a violation of election laws. We didn't have that problem with Clinton and he certainly was never charged with, much less convicted, or even accused of, rape.
