  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Not in the Bible.

Yup, it is. It was a place traveled near or at by Paul (Adria or also referred to as Adrias). The Adriatic Sea is derived from the ancient city named "Adria".

more properly Adrias, the Adriatic Sea. (Acts 27:27) The word seems to have been derived from the town of Adria, near the Po. In Paul's time it included the whole sea between Greece and Italy, reaching south from Crete to Sicily. [MELITA]

Although there are a multitude of geographic locations in the Mediterranean area such as Ionia and Sicily, only a small number are actually mentioned in the Bible itself. Paul did, indeed, cross the Adriatic Sea on numerous occasions but Adria is never mentioned in the Bible.

I dunno, that might be a matter of opinion, since the place is rather ancient, and the article mentions it.

It's rather obscure, therefore i'm willing to just leave it be.

This is a FUN thread, my'friend.
