  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why Vaccinations Shouldn't be Optional

Read Foxes Book of Martyrs to see how nasty, brutish and 'short' life was for multitudes at the hands of the same authority that is pushing vaccinations today. (authority of men/ mankind/ 'leaders' and rulers without any concern for truth).

You are aware that the vast majority of Foxes Book of Martyrs is devoted to the persecution of Protestants by the Catholic Church aren't you? One of the repeated defences made by those protestant martyrs was 'Show me from Scripture and plain reason how I am wrong and I will gladly recant'. Many were also persecuted for translating Scripture into teh common tongue. In the vaccine discussion it is those favoring vaccinations who publish real studies and allow the anti vaxxers to address real studies instead of anecdotal stories.

Smallpox has been eliminated from the human population, the last case being in 1975. In the 20th century alone the estimated death toll was 300 to 500 million people. The last major outbreak was in 1967 when 15 million contracted the disease and 2 million died. What made this eradication possible? Vaccinations!

The success of the City of Leicester, England was remarkable in reducing smallpox mortality substantially compared to the rest of England and other countries by abandoning vaccination between 1882 and 1908. I love history.

I do have my history right. :)
I also don't tend to trust any online source, but thanks for the link.
I have done my research using actual history books and not trusting online sources unless they are actual medical studies that I admit make my brain hurt. My university has an incredible library with a plethora of real periodicals, journals and books.
The history of smallpox is none too pretty. The history of Edward Jenner and vaccination is none too pretty either. Heck, the history of disease isn't pretty at all. But history itself is so important to study. Those who don't know their own history are doomed to repeat it.
It's always interesting to me how people speak about smallpox as such simple proof of the value of vaccination, spouting such erroneous conjecture. The truth is, it's just not that simple. It is much more complex than that. Correlation does not imply causation. :) If anything, if you dig deeper into the history and take time to really study it, smallpox (and polio for that matter) is a disease that proves that vaccination needs a great deal more study. While good in principle at best, it doesn't even come close to doing what it portrays itself to do, and may very well be more dangerous for the human race than we even understand or ever will.

Alright. Maybe offer your sources?

Also, the history of smallpox and vaccinations is that smallpox has been eradicated because of vaccination. Or do your offline sources tell the tale of the brave knight who with sword in hand single-handedly destroyed the evil dragon Smallpox and rescued the village?

You would like a list of periodicals, journals and books that I have read on just the Leicester, England regarding vaccination or all the books in general? Umm, I think not as it would clearly be a waste of my time because you wouldn't read them anyway. You have clearly made up your mind on the topic and nothing I say will make any difference in this type of forum. Face to face perhaps but here, not likely.

I chose not to dignify your smug comment with an intelligent answer.

Here are just a few FACTS about vaccines though.

Mandatory vaccination violates the medical ethics of informed consent, the Nuremberg Code and the Universal Declaration of Bioethics and Human Rights.

The US and Canada have the most aggressive vaccine schedule in the world. The number of recommended vaccines in the US and Canada have more than doubled since 1980. Children receive as many as 53 doses of 16 vaccines by age six.

The safety of the current CDC vaccine schedule has never been proven in large, long-term clinical trials. There is increasing evidence that the risks outway outweigh the benefits.

Vaccines have not been tested for their ability to cause cancer, the degree to which a vaccine can damage an organism, their ability to damage genetic information, their ability to change genetic material or for the long-term adverse reactions. Product monographs make this fact clear.

The current CDC schedule has never been tested for safety in the real world way in which the schedule is implemented.

No independent trials confirm the safety of giving multiple vaccinations at once. The research shows a dose-dependent association between the number of vaccines administered at the same time and hospitalization and death.

No long-term clinical evidence exists that show vaccinated children have better overall health than unvaccinated children.

No clinical studies have been conducted to establish the safety of using aluminum in vaccines. The neurotoxicity of aluminum is well documented, affecting memory, cognition and psychomotor control, and causes damage to the blood-brain barrier.

...there are plenty of other FACTS I could list but I will stop there.

All these facts come from books, not online sources although I did google some of it and found websites that stated the same information.

Well now I love history too, so since this is something you're learned on please share more. If they really did abandon vaccination then what did they do to treat any breakouts of smallpox? Were none of the folks in that city already vaccinated before they did this? Is what they did then something that could be done now that there's outbreaks of diseases like the measles that had been nearly eradicated in a lot of countries before the anti-vaxxer kick?

Well plenty of folks around here also have access to incredible libraries, so it should be no problem at all to find the sources you've used for your extensive research. You said that those who don't know their own history are doomed to repeat it, so I'm sure you'll be glad to put in the bit of effort to help us out.

Does the university you go have an immunization policy?

Here is a source, photocopies of a real paper article that gives several reasons for teh improved numbers in spite of any decrease in vaccination rates.

http://images.biomedsearch.com/6997...208000&Signature=qV/LT1+HDQVLZf+BM9PcKFhztk8=

Immediate isolation of smallpox cases and that eventually all smallpox patients received professional nursing (in contrast to most of the rest of England) easily explains the better results.

You first have to survive it. You wanna take that risk, be my guest. The planet is overpopulated anyway.

In first world countries, chickenpox is a minor ailment.
I used to have a few dimples in my stomach because of
scratching the blisters, but even those are long gone.

I am pretty sure he hates me since I'm gay. But thats okay, I'm more fabulous than him so I win by default.

Well Pat I'm sure the folks peddling vitamins & the anti-vaxxer stuff love saying that but the facts sure don't show that to be so.

Well I suspect you're correct on that, on account of how it surely would have been simpler to just give the links asked for instead of to get huffy & write all that out.
