Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

Yeah she was like 13.. yet a bunch of adults on the internet made fun of her.

Yeah sometimes I wonder about people behind the memes.. like that neckbeard guy (well multiple ones.. lol).. it's like ha-ha.. you're ugly.. and that fact will remind you at unsuspecting times. Want save refuge on an internet form? That meme could pop up there..

There was a teen boy known to the internet as Alex from Target. All that happened was someone took a picture of him while he was working and turned it into a meme. It got to the point where Alex had to work in the back of the store because he became such a tourist attraction for the store and he did not like the attention after a while.

I bet our parents in the 1980's could never imagine a time where you could become a world wide celebrity by pure chance. In the 1960's, Andy Warhol even said that in the future everybody would be famous for 15 minutes. I bet he didn't predict anything like the internet either back when he said that.

Yeah not so large scale.. sure spur of the moment local celebrities happened.

It’s not really sports; people are to blame.
People have gotten less and less reasonable as time has gone on.

Sports fans destroyed property, looted stores, set things on fire, pushed over cars, ate horse feces, among other things all because a bunch of guys on a high protein diet were more successful in chasing around a ball than the other group of guys who longed to be featured on a box of Wheaties.

I never did understand why sports were such a big deal to people. I do agree that people are becoming less reasonable because this looked like something a bunch of hormonal middle schoolers would do after their team beat a rival school at the state championships.

“Becoming less reasonable” was my charitable way of saying “losing their sanity.”
When something good happens, and people celebrate it by cursing, debauchery, violence... well, the Spirit of God isn’t leading them to do that.

My parents are back home from the hospital. My stepfather is on tons of medications and cannot lift anything over five pounds. He's going to need my help with lifting for the next few months. I'm pretty much home bound thanks to my dizzy spells so I can make the most of it by helping my stepfather.

Lord, please give me the strength, patience, and stability to take care of my parents.

I wonder if I’m the only one who routinely thinks “I can’t handle this”... before giving it a try anyway, because I have no other choice... and finding out that I can indeed handle it well.

Anyone see The Cloverfield Paradox? It became available on Netflix right after the Super Bowl. From what I hear, it was amazing and answered some questions. Loved the first Cloverfield, so I'll probably watch this tomorrow.

Wait, what? Does it pick up where the other left off or something?

The existence of this fake thread kind of bothers me a little. :sorry:

Like if I made one called:
What are you listening to right now? (25)

Namelessjuan started it, not me, so that would be kind of creepy.

It was disconcerting when I previously thought about returning, and it's still disconcerting now. Has anybody had a thread taken over before? Maybe it's my ego talking, but this is a weird thing to experience. Like entering a parallel dimension, where things aren't quite right.

Back when threads split, legit first posts looked like this:

This thread was split automatically after 1000 replies and this thread has been automatically created.
The old thread automatically closed is here: "What's on your mind? (102)"

No, it bothers me, too, and it wasn't even my thread. I guess a lot of it has to do with how much was put into that thread. A lot of Singles history unfolded there, and yeah, thread splits were epic fun that can't be topped.

I guess it answers a lot of questions and such. Wanna watch it?

Haha, sure. Last movie night recently was a bust anyway. Lol. Say 8:30-ish?
