Is it your view the entire universe is 6,000 years old?

No. My pastor is a YEC, but I consider myself, for lack of a better term, an Embedded Age Creationist.

It's kind of a modified Apparent Age Creationist, but I drop saying the universe "appears old" in favor of saying the universe "is old."

I believe the universe is as old as God created it, but that it has only been in existence for 6000 years.

I ask because even conservative Christians who are scientists date our universe by billions of years. Even the Discovery Institute.

Ya ... I used to go with their findings and say the universe is billions; but now I just say it is as old as God made it.

I consider myself YEC even though I have some reservations. I just don't think the age of the universe and the sphere we inhabit are of any consequence to the doctrine of creation.

You never heard that Adam was a creationist? The Kabbalah or oral tradition goes back to Moses. Some people say that the oral tradition goes all the way back to Adam.

So what happened in between? How was the tradition preserved between the tiime of Adam and the early 19th century?
