hmm, well, I'm not a right winger, but I understand where they are coming from. You can't fix your problems by running from them, you have to face them head on in full honesty. So what you fail, learn from it. so what you're poor, learn from it. being a loser isn't wrong, staying that way is. don't misunderstand, I'm not saying this to tear you down, just saying that you shouldn't be hard on yourself. take all your negative and turn it for your favor. Make the change for yourself, because no one else can do it for you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, so don't make God look like a liar.OMM: It's hard to see myself for how God sees me when His other creations (ie the Religious Right) have to constantly remind me how much of a loser and a failure I am for not having worldly success.
"Many who are first will be last and many who are last will be first" and "The humble will be exalted and the exalted will be humbled". I can understand why these were said numerous times in the Bible.
No righteous person is a loser, no matter what their financial, social, or career status.hmm, well, I'm not a right winger, but I understand where they are coming from. well, it was a figure of speech referring to when people call themselves a loser or think they fail. Life and death is in the power of the tongue so those things only apply if we make them. all i'm saying is that life and death have been brought before us, choose life. I grew up in the projects with no hope of ever getting out with threats around you constantly...God got me through. if He can do it with me, he can do it with anyone. No one is immune to God's goodness...unless, of course, we reject it.No righteous person is a loser, no matter what their financial, social, or career status.
Also, some people simply can't work or do the other things the average joe can do, no matter how much effort they put in.
We each bring what we can to the table, and each person is an individual with their own abilities and limitations.
He's quite right that many Christians do look towards someone's wordly success instead of looking at the most important thing, and really the only important thing - how much a person loves God and loves others.
Such language could be the sounds of contrition. That would be a good sound to God's ears.well, it was a figure of speech referring to when people call themselves a loser or think they fail. So a person with a mental disability should be held to the same standard as someone without it? Because just so you know, that's the situation that's currently at hand, as Wayholka is autistic. Many autistic people need caregivers their whole life, some need less help than that, while others need no help at all because they're very high functioning, there are different degrees and each case is unique to the person.well, it was a figure of speech referring to when people call themselves a loser or think they fail. I was thinking about when Jesus walked through a city and couldn't perform even one miracle...think about that, God manifest in the flesh walked through a city and couldn't do anything and scripture says it was because of their faith...so, sometimes, we are the ones who get in the way of God. Jesus himself told the pharisees that they nullify the Word of God...just saying, we have to be careful that we don't reject and push away the very things that are good for us.Such language could be the sounds of contrition. Psalm 34:18 The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
I think that depends on how much you trust God's ability to heal people. So a person with a mental disability should be held to the same standard as someone without it? The same goes for my own case, as a person with schizophrenia (albeit a high functioning one, but still to the degree that tasks people take for granted are either a high challenge for me or simply not doable).
And I highly disagree with the concept of a child of God ever being able to reject God's goodness. Our cups overflow, even when we reject Him He remains faithful and good to us. Especially to the child who gives God his entire heart and soul.
P.S. - Sorry if this embarrasses you Wayholka, not my intention I assure you.
Ok, conversations done.I think that depends on how much you trust God's ability to heal people.
also, you should probably check up matthew 15 if you disagree with that. not trying to pick on you but there's a biblical principle here that has to be understood to live in truth. And I highly disagree with the concept of a child of God ever being able to reject God's goodness.

Faith doesn't guarantee health in this life. I think maybe a step of empathy is necessary here to understand that people are dealing with things that you haven't, and also that things aren't always as easy as just pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps. I don't think you realize how damaging a statement like that can be for people who are struggling. "Have more faith" is rarely a helpful piece of advice.
