• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Collusion...is there any doubt now?

When the investigation is complete, would be the time to determine whether it was a witch hunt.
True. However, the argument being made by folks like me is that there was scant evidence on which to support their being an investigation in the first place.

But you're right, the results will let us know.

And now there have been multiple arrests and a plea deal. If it were me, that would make me reconsider my claims of "scant evidence".

“Follow the money”.......I think in the end it will be about money....there is a reason this proven, habitual liar will not show the tax returns he promised to show after the election

But they are not related to the reason this was done. It's like breaking into a house looking for drugs and finding illegal vhs copies made from rental movies.

Scant evidence? Oh, I see. You have Russia gate confused with Benghazi, Hillary's emails, travelgate, and white water. The Clintons were the ones being investigated without evidence---but Trump? Once the snowball starts rolling downhill it may very well crush everyone working in the Oval Office cesspool.

I think that it is a matter of degree. It sure looks like there was an exchange of some information, though Wikileaks is probably the most likely source, rather than directly from Russians. However, how much sharing and with whom and who in the campaign knew about it, still remains a mystery.

It almost made it through 7 sentences before outright lying which makes it better than many alt-right propaganda outlets. But no, it certainly doesn't clarify anything.

Is there anything in there you find convincing. I mean sure, it is an entertaining rant but the train of thought derailed pretty quickly.
Apparently opinions vary. ;)

Nothing you want to highlight in that source as worth reading?
The whole thing. It's not that long.

I have to confess that as of the last couple of months, Americanthinker has be come my absolute favorite site regarding opinion on the current political stories. They are absolutely nailing it, over and over. I've only seen one story that was a bit flaky, but it was still better than a lot of stuff I see from "reputable" sources like NPR.

Like I said, once I got to the part where he was obviously lying about the political affiliation of the special prosecutor's office I stopped trusting the author. There's also the issue that he seems to have fallen for the alt-right talking point that Mueller's job is only to investigate the Steele dossier. He pretends lack of verification means something is false. He doesn't know how long Mueller has been in the job. He's alleging that Mueller is leaking thing to the press without any sort of evidence. He mistakenly believes the special prosecutor was put in place by newspapers. He doesn't know that a special prosecutor was appointed to investigate Bill Clinton. And so on, and so forth. There's zero credibility here - my only real question is whether the author is too uninformed to know he's not telling the truth or just hoping his audience is.

Is that because you like what they say, or because they are objectively reporting the facts.

Both. There are some sites that agree with my position, but they are just opinion sites that don't get into the real reasons behind why I, myself, agree with the raw position. Sometimes they make the point, but with too many words.

There is a level of scholarship on that site that is pretty rare in any kind of media these days. And there are some that "sound" scholarly, until you get into the actual facts on which any premise they make are based.

Calling him a democrat, for one. Plus all the other factual errors mentioned in my previous post.
He didn't call him a democrat. However, he did say this about his staff: "...The case against Bob Mueller and his squad of Democrat witch-hunters..."

Which is a true statement.
