  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Collusion...is there any doubt now?

Almost there

You might also remember that a Trump campaign official was convicted based on his lying about his contacts with Russians.
Sort of. I know of no jury convictions. I know the whole thing is fuzzy because this is literally an exercise of what "met with the Russians" really means.

My upstairs neighbor in Seattle was Russian. I talked with him a few times. I wonder if I'd be guilty of lying if I said I never "met with the Russians".

See where I'm going with this? ;)

As you pointed out in your link: "Back in 2005, when he was a deputy attorney general, Comey named a special prosecutor to investigate who in the George W. Bush administration leaked the name of a CIA employee to syndicated columnist Robert Novak."

You are mincing words if you think this doesn't count. It was investigating the Dubya administration. And they got their sacrificial lamb out of it and moved on.
I'm not mincing words when I point out that Clinton was far more investigated by special counselors than Reagan or George W - whereas your source claims that it was only Republican presidents who were.

Does your neighbor work for the Russian government?

See where I'm going with this? ;)
Yes, you're trying to equate a Russian neighbor with a foreign government agent. That doesn't really wash.

The real collusion was and is between Democrats and the mainstream propaganda media.

Yet for some reasons the only arrests coming from the Mueller investigation are of Trump's employees. Weird how reality seems to be so different than alt-right conspiracy theories make it out to be.

So?

I know the whole thing is fuzzy because this is literally an exercise of what "met with the Russians" really means.

No it wasn't. It was a question of one of Trump's campaign officials choosing to risk the penalties for lying to investigators about his meetings with Russian agents rather than tell the truth about them. That's a pretty big red flag that something shady was going on.

My upstairs neighbor in Seattle was Russian. I talked with him a few times. I wonder if I'd be guilty of lying if I said I never "met with the Russians".

Yes, it looks like the start of a long meandering trip to distraction-ville.
