You could tell him that evolution has nothing to do with the truth or falsehood of Christianity, and that there are lots and lots of Christians, including many Christian scientists, who accept the findings of science. Focus on what matters, not on what doesn't.

Sorry, but this is just wrong. The basic reality of evolution has been the consensus view among scientists for well over a century, and its validity and importance have only been cemented by all of the discoveries in between. There is lots of debate in the scientific literature about the details and mechanisms of evolution, but none at all about its reality.

No. "Prove" is a difficult and daunting task which typically ends nowhere. One can believe fully in Jesus Christ yet have disparate views on a number of secondary issues illustrating that Christ is central not dinosaurs, evolution, or age of the earth. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life:..." that should be the focus everything else pales.

Chesterton said "...a personal God might just as well do things slowly as quickly, ..." does evolution (in the limited sense) or the age of the earth or universe really impact our Faith? It would seem to me that the only real impact on an unbeliever is when there is a rigid insistence that evolution, age of the earth, mankind lived with dinosaurs, etc. must be abandoned against all evidence in order to be a "Christian".

You could find evidence of a mammal in a layer of Cambrian strata.

It's not perfect but would be a start.

God's intelligence and power can be considered infinite.
Evolution would be easy simple for God to accomplish.

i am not sure. but even if we are talking about 1% percent, we may dealing with thousands of them. actually it doesnt matter at all, since science is base on evidences and not on surveys.

in this case they can argue for convergent evolution (mammals evolved twice). so such finding will not falsifed evolution.
