If we sin we are under the law and guilty before God?

So if the Christian fails to observes the law/ commits sin, they are under the law and guilty before God.

Thanks for confirming that is your belief.

Observe the law or you are under the law and guilty
So you are In a righteous/ justified state if you observe the law

Could you give us a verse of scripture, from anywhere once the NC is in operation where the words: Ten Commandments are used
Only you keep repeating the words TC, yet I can't find one verse of scripture in my Bible, once the NC us in operation, where the words Ten Commandments are written

If the Christian breaks one of the TC they are guilty of breaking all?

Therefore if a Christian has any impure thoughts, or desires anything that is not theirs to desire, or, even fleetingly has a graven image in their mind, they are guilty of breaking all of the TC. And if a Christian fails, at anytime to love God with all their heart, body soul mind and strength, they are guilty of breaking all of the TC. If a Christian makes one slip in regards to honouring their parents they are guilty of breaking all of the TC.
On this point we agree

4. Jesus is your example who did no sin (1 Pet 2:21-22)
5. Cease from sin and do not live in the flesh (1 Pet 4:1-3)
6. Judgement will begin at the house of God and sinners (those breaking God’s 10 commandments) will not be saved.
7. God has given us his precious promises and as we believe them God will grant us his divine power to live a life of Godliness (obedience to God’s Law; 2 Pet 1:2-4)
8. The Un-Godly (disobedient to God’s Law) will be like Sodom and Gomorrah (2 Pet 2:6)
9. If any turn away from God’s Law and are in unrepentant sin breaking any of God’10 commandments they will be lost (2 Pet 2:20-22)
10 God is not willing that any should perish but that everyone should come to repentance and turn away from sin to follow God’s 10 commandments because those that do not will receive the judgements of God (2 Pet 3:5-14)

What did Jesus and the Apostles teach about the Sabbath in the New Testament?

1. It is lawful to do good on the Sabbath (Matt 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56)
2. Jesus made the Sabbath for all mankind (Mark 2:27)
3. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath (Mark 2:28)
4. If you do not believe and follow God you cannot enter His Sabbath rest (Hebrews 4)
5. It is one of God’s 10 commandments we break it we are guilty or breaking all (James 2:8-12)
6. Breaking it is sin (1 John 3:4)
7. God’s true followers keep it Holy as God commanded (Rev 14:12; Rev 22:14; Eze 20:20)
8. Jesus is our example and he kept the Sabbath (Matt 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56; John 2:6; Matt 16:24; 1 Cor 11:1; Eph 5:1-21; Pet 2:20-22)
9. The Apostle kept the Sabbath (Acts 13:14; 13:27; 13:44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4; Rev 1:10)

God’s Law in the NC is written on our hearts it is through love and it is love the fulfils God’s Law in us as we walk not after the flesh but after the spirit and is why Jesus says f you love me keep my commandments. (John 14:15; John 15:10). If we knowingly break one of God’s commandments we commit sin (1 John 3:4). This includes the 7th Day Sabbath which Jesus made for us and commands us to keep as a holy day.

In Christ Always!

Hi Stuart, I just woke up. Good morning from my side of the world and hope you are well.
If we sin we are under the law and guilty before God?
Depending on the context and scripture used the term "under the law" has a few different meanings. One of them is that if we break God's Law and are guilty before God of sin. As it is written;

Romans 2:12-13
All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified."

Romans 3:19

Now we know that what things soever the law says, it says to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Romans 3:9
What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin

If you are being controlled by sin in your life you are under the law and guilty before God.

Romans 3:19

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
So if the Christian fails to observes the law/ commits sin, they are under the law and guilty before God. Thanks for confirming that is your belief. Observe the law or you are under the law and guilty
I have never said "observe the law or you are under the law guilty. It is written we are saved by grace through faith and not of yourselves it is a gift of God lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Hi Stuart, I just woke up. Good morning from my side of the world and hope you are well.

Depending on the context and scripture used the term "under the law" has a few different meanings. One of them is that if we break God's Law and are guilty before God of sin. As it is written;

I have never said "observe the law or you are under the law guilty. It is written we are saved by grace through faith and not of yourselves it is a gift of God lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9)[/QUOTE

Hi
You wrote, and I quote:
If we sin we are under the law and guilty before God

Same as saying:

If we fail to observe the law we are under the law and guilty before God

Could you give us a verse of scripture, from anywhere once the NC is in operation where the words: Ten Commandments are used Only you keep repeating the words TC, yet I can't find one verse of scripture in my Bible, once the NC us in operation, where the words Ten Commandments are written
God's Law (10 commandments) are all the way through the Old and New Testament scriptures. See the OP for many more but a few example from the New Testament..

James 2:8-12
8, If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well: 9, But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. 10, For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. 11, For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. 12, So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

Romans 13:9-10
9, For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 10, Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Matthew 19:16-19
16, And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 17, And he said unto him, Why call me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. 18, He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, 19, Honor thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

The point us. You repeatedly mention the words: Ten Comnandmmants. The Apostles, in their letters never once state those words do they. Just seems strange that they don't use those words but you repeatedly do

Do I not believe the OT scriptures are for Christians?
Depends which ones.
Paul for instance tells us ALL food is clean. So that law is not binding on Christians is it

Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. Romans 3:31

Hi
You wrote, and I quote:
If we sin we are under the law and guilty before God Same as saying:
If we fail to observe the law we are under the law and guilty before God

The interpretation of what is being said is not correct "If we sin we are under the law and guilty before God" as found in Romans 2:12-13; Romans 3:19; Romans 3:9; Romans 3:19 Is not the same you saying "If we fail to observe the law we are under the law and guilty before God" because we are not saved by observing the law. I have told you twice now that I have never said "observe the law or you are under the law guilty as you have stated. It is written we are saved by grace through faith and not of yourselves it is a gift of God lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). So I hope this clears up any misunderstanding. Hope this helps

No your interpretation of the scriptures which say "If we sin we are under the law and guilty before God" as found in Romans 2:12-13; Romans 3:19; Romans 3:9; Romans 3:19

I simply repeated your statement, but instead of the word sin as you wrote i inserted:
fail to observe the law.
How is that not accurate in translating what you wrote? For if you sin you fail to observe the law. It means EXACTLY the same thing

You repeated my statement "If we sin we are under the law and guilty before God" supported by the scriptures found in Romans 2:12-13; Romans 3:19; Romans 3:9; Romans 3:19 then tried to re-phrase what was said above to say something different; "If we fail to observe the law we are under the law and guilty before God" You statement implies you must observe the law to be saved. This is not what is being said or what the scriptures say. Hope this helps clear and misunderstandings.

Wonderful verse. It comes after Paul has repeatedly stressed the Christian has righteousness apart from law, and they are not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Christ

Actually no you repeated my statement "If we sin we are under the law and guilty before God" supported by the scriptures found in Romans 2:12-13; Romans 3:19; Romans 3:9; Romans 3:19
Then tried to re-phrase what was said above to say something different; "If we fail to observe the law we are under the law and guilty before God" You statement above is implying you must observe the law to be saved. This is not what is being said or what the scriptures say. Hope this help to fix up any misunderstandings.

Let's make it clear so there is no misunderstanding from the start.

I believe as I know you do as well that is it only through God's Law that any of us know what sin is because sin is the transgression of God's Law (Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; James 2:11; 1 John 3:4). As it is written What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. It is only through God's Word that we have a knowledge of sin as the last scripture shows. The battle however is for the mind. Who has the thoughts? What do we love to think about the most? Who or what has our warmest and highest affections? This is why Jesus says; For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 5:20). It is only God's Law (10 commandments) that can bring us to the foot of the cross where we are all undone at the feet of Jesus where we can see our Savior. (Galatians 3:24-25). We must see ourselves as God sees us. Sinners in need of a Saviour will all our righteousness as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6). This is why Jesus says; They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. But go ye and learn what that means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance (Matthew 8:12-13).

Time for an intermission; and the reason why we love him

It is be grace that we are saved through faith and not of ourselves it is a gift of God lest any man should boast and we follow him by faith as we resist temptation and walking not after the flesh but after the Spirit (Word of God). (Ephesians 2:8; 1 Corinthians 10:13; James 1:12; Romans 8:4). God's gift of grace which we receive by faith is for obedience so that the righteousness of God's Law is fulfilled and established in the life of the believer as God writes his Law of Love in us so that we can follow him (Romans 1:5; Romans 8:4; Romans 3:31). This is why it is also written; For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. (Romans 13:9-10). This is why Jesus says If you love me keep my commandments" and If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love." (John 14:15; 15:10) In the new Covenant God's Law (10 commandments) the point out sin and the wages of sin being death to the Unbeliever are now God's promises of salvation to the believer as they have complete dependence and faith on the Word of God to do what it says it will do. (2 Peter 1:4).
