Genesis 3:15
SEED= OFFSPRING provide DESCENDANTS...
SEED OF THE WOMAN =From SETH to JESUS .-Jesus will crush the head of the serpent -
---------------------------------
-The other seed of the story...became the first murderer Genesis 4 [and have descendants Genesis 4:16-26 ...the probability is great that one of the 3 wifes of the 3 sons of Noah was a descendant of Cain.
-Notice that Cain is not cited in Genesis 5 ...[clue clue clue]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jesus' heels were bruised on the cross at the Crucifixion ....

Now look at those who caused that Jesus was put to Death ... fulfilling that part of the prophecy of Genesis 3:15 ...-- and thou [through thy descendants] shalt bruise his heel ---

Luke 22:2
The chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they might put Him to death;

These same chief priests and scribes pharisee [disguised]were among the crowd crying liberate Barnabas crucify Jesus...

Thanks for your response.

But it fails the "literality" test.

"Literal" means "by the letter". And of course it also means "by the word" insofar as language requires that letters be concatenated to form words and their meanings. Therefore, a literal interpretation cannot refer to any words which do not appear literally within the source text itself.

The following words do not appear in Genesis 3:15:
Seth, Jesus, murderer, wives, Noah, Cain, cross, crucifixion

They therefore cannot appear in a literal interpretation.

But they certainly can appear in a spiritual interpretation, which is what you've provided, and which is the only acceptable form of interpretation of this verse.

So the very first prophecy in the inspired Word of God, Genesis 3:15, is meaningless and worse when interpreted literally, but which comes alive with spiritual meaning when interpreted spiritually.

And if Scripture's very first prophecy is unquestionably spiritual, you can be certain that many more are the same.

The oft-repeated claim that "all fulfilled prophecy has been fulfilled literally" is thus immediately disproven.

Genesis 3:15 have been fulfilled literally...even if the imagery used in the text seem incomprehensible at first view.

Genesis 3:15
15 and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed:
- he shall bruise thy head,
-and thou shalt bruise his heel. [foretold Jesus crucifixion were Jesus' heels were bruised with the nails on the cross]

Jesus will bruise the head of the serpent...

The Bible describe who the SERPENT represent...in Revelation 12:9 -the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan,-

Did the literal seed of the woman (the verse does not literally tell us who it is) literally bruise the literal head of that literal serpent?

Did that literal serpent literally bruise the literal heel of the woman's literal seed?

Those are the questions that a literal interpetation must answer. The answer to both is unquestionably "no." When you refer to "imagery" you have immediately abandoned "literality" and are speaking spiritually.

The imagery used in the text have a literal meaning....when decoded.
For example Revelation 12:9 give us the identity of the SERPENT. [The old serpent,... [name] ....,-the deceiver of the whole world-]

The other way to decode the imagery -- SEED for example is to use the original HEBREW meaning of the HEBREW word for SEED.

Strong's Hebrew: 2233. זָ֫רַע (zera) -- a sowing [semence], seed, offspring
biblehub.com/hebrew/2233.htm - En cache - Similaires
Original Word: זָ֫רַע ... זֶ֫רַע noun masculine sowing [semence], seed, offspring (Late Hebrew id., Aramaic זְרַע, ;

NASB Translation
carnally* (1), child (1), children (3), descendant (3), descendants (105), descent (1), family (6), fertile (1), grain (3), intercourse* (2), line (1), nation (1), offspring (38), offspring's offspring (1), origin (1), posterity (1), race (1), seed (48), seedtime (1), seminal (4), seminal* (1), son* (1), time (1), what you sow (1).

The literal images have spiritual meanings:

The literal image is the serpent.
The spiritual meaning is Satan.
The literal image is the woman's seed.
The spiritual meaning is Christ.

This is the first prophecy about Jesus. Right at the point where Adam and Eve fell, God prophesied the Gospel.
The seed of Eve represents Jesus. Satan will bruise His heel by having Him crucified, but Jesus end up totally defeating the devil. The prophecy shows the wonderful grace of God, that right at the point of the Fall, He had the plan of salvation all set up and from then on He was going to put it into effect.

Amen. And it is a spiritual prophecy, and can only be understood when interpreted spiritually, as you have done.

I'm curious to know why you have not put your own interpretation as the OP for others to comment on instead of asking someone else to lead the way.

Genesis 3:15. I will put enmity, &c. — The whole race of serpents are, of all creatures, the most disagreeable and terrible to mankind, and especially to women: but the devil, who seduced the woman, and his angels, are here meant, who are hated and dreaded by all men, even by those that serve them, but more especially by good men. And between thy seed — All carnal and wicked men, who, in reference to this text, are called the children and seed of Satan; and her seed — That is, her offspring, first and principally CHRIST, who, with respect to this promise, is termed, by way of eminence, her seed, (see Galatians 3:16; Galatians 3:19,) whose alone work it is to bruise the serpent’s head, to destroy the policy and power of the devil. But also, secondly, all the members of Christ, all believers and holy men, are here intended, who are the seed of Christ and the implacable enemies of the devil and his works, and who overcome him by Christ’s merit and power.

It shall bruise thy head — The principal instrument of the serpent’s fury and mischief, and of his defence; and also the chief seat of his life, which, therefore, men chiefly strike at, and which, being upon the ground, a man may conveniently tread upon and crush to pieces. Applied to Satan, this denotes his subtlety and power, producing death, which Christ, the Seed of the woman, destroys by taking away its sting, which is sin.

Thou shalt bruise his heel — The part which is most within the serpent’s reach, and on which, being bruised by it, the serpent is provoked to fix its venomous teeth, but a part remote from the head and heart, and therefore wounds there, though painful, are yet not deadly nor dangerous, if they be observed in time. Understood of Christ, the seed of the woman, his heel means, first, his humanity, whereby he trod upon the earth, and which the devil, through the instrumentality of wicked men, bruised and killed; and, secondly, his people, his members, whom Satan, in divers ways, bruises, vexes, and afflicts while they are on earth, but cannot reach either Christ their head in heaven, or themselves when they shall be advanced thither. In this verse, therefore, notice is given of a perpetual quarrel commenced between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of the devil among men: war is proclaimed between the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent, Revelation 12:7. It is the fruit of this enmity, 1st, That there is a continual conflict between God’s people and him. Heaven and hell can never be reconciled, no more can Satan and a sanctified soul. 2d, That there is likewise a continual struggle between the wicked and the good. And all the malice of persecutors against the people of God is the fruit of this enmity, which will continue while there is a godly man on this side heaven, and a wicked man on this side hell. But, 3d, A gracious promise also is here made of Christ, as the deliverer of fallen man from the power of Satan. By faith in this promise, our first parents, and the patriarchs before the flood, were justified and saved; and to this promise, and the benefit of it, instantly serving God day and night, they hoped to come.

You've just supplied your own answer. There is no better spiritual interpretation that I could have provided than what you've provided.

.the probability is great that one of the 3 wifes of the 3 sons of Noah was a descendant of Cain.
There is another view as well because of "AND ALSO AFTER THAT".

Gen 6-There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them

It seems that there was a repeat performance

More allegorical Scripture -- David describing God's deliverance from his enemies:

Psalm 18
1 I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.

2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

3 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

4 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.

5 The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.

6 In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

7 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

8 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.

10 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.

11 He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

12 At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.

13 The Lord also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.

14 Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.

15 Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

16 He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.

17 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.

I find it very interesting that you "the OP" started off with this.
"Accepting volunteers, in particular literalists"

And just recently you changed it too this-

".Accepting volunteers, in particular literalists.
"All fulfilled prophecy has been fulfilled literally."
"Ever heard and/or read that?
"Read on...

So the obvious question is , why did you do that?

Nothing's changed. Still "Accepting volunteers, in particular literalists".

Allegorical description of the destruction of Idumea:

Isaiah 34
4 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.
5 For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.

If you want a literate word by word fulfilling of prophecy from Genesis, then you should look at a very first verse in original Hebrew. Actually first word of it. It foretolds Jesus, God manifested in flesh, dying for our sins to save us from our sins!

Allegorical prophecy of the Medes' conquest of Babylon:

Isaiah 13

1 The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.

9 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.

13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

17 Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.
