The contraceptive mindset, whether abortifacient or not, is the root cause of abortion. If we only had sex when there was a need or desire to have children, there would be no abortion. Modern man's obsession with sex is an error which brings forth death

The longer things go the more the Church is proven wise in matters affecting sexuality and reproduction. Research is coming out that women who use birth control are more likely to become lesbians.

Literally, when you put it that way.

I was on a left leaning political board talking about abortion, and it was amazing that people seemed to see no connection at all between sex and having children. By my being against abortion, they tried to tell me I was part of the patriarchy wanting to "punish" women who had sex by forcing them to have children. I kept saying that having children was a natural potential consequence of having sex, and people should take responsibility for that. But they only wanted to frame abortion in the sense of women's rights, and that any effort to limit abortion was an attack on a woman's control of her own body.

They view pleasure as their right, and in doing so they reject God. God gives them free will, so yes it is their “right” to choose abortion and the futile quest to pursue pleasure for its own sake.
What they do not realize is that the end of their choice is death. Both their child’s and their own soul. When one rejects God, who can save us from this body of death?
The pursuit of pleasure is like all addictions. We can clearly see the harm, but it is almost impossible to take an alcoholic from his drink or an addict from his fix even though they know that they are harming themselves.
We need to hold up the Christian life as examples of those that are not ruled by our passions. This involves prayer fasting and almsgiving. We take up our cross and follow Our Lord in humility, as only the Spirit of God can convert their hearts. Human argument alone cannot do it.
Even alcoholics realize that only a higher power can save them from their drink.
We know the only power comes through Our Lord Jesus Christ. He denied Himself all the pleasures of the world and chose the joy of love by His death on the cross. We follow Him by denying ourselves and taking up our cross
