Awesome my brother in Christ. Keep on fighting the good fight. I relate to your situation. Keep growing in the faith. Pray and share the gospel with your family, and leave the rest in the Lord hands. Check out this site, whitehorseinn.orgHello, I have been a Christian for about a year and I have been surrounding myself with scripture and have done everything I can to grow close with the Lord and to fully devote my life to serving Him. I am 18 and I don't have a car yet or any way to get to church on Sundays, even though I desperately wish I could. My family isn't part of the faith much at all and we don't talk about Jesus or God and we don't even say Grace before meals (I do but I am the only one). I have been wanting to be baptized but with no way of attending a church or anything similar, I researched self baptism. I baptized myself this morning after coming to the conclusion it would be a bit before I could find a church and attend it. I felt so alive after my baptism but I do wonder, is this a true baptism if I did this alone ? I prayed before and after and I do plan when I can find a church and attend to be baptized again but I wonder if my self baptism is a true baptism. I fully put my life to Christ so He may use me to do whatever purpose He wishes. God bless you all brothers and sisters in Christ and thank you for anyone who takes to time to talk to me.
Further, another thing... an angel of THE LORD purposely directed Philip (an already baptized believer in CHRIST) to go a certain way and THE SPIRIT directed Philip to where the eunuch was
(This is similar to Peter being led to Cornelius)
The prerequisite of both these baptisms was hearing and believing the GOSPEL
According to what you posted, Philip being present/not present wouldn't have entered in to the conversation, as he being a 'minister' of the gospel was some man made thing anyway...Well obviously not, because Philip was present.

An important point. If you baptize yourself, that is a work. But Christians RECEIVE baptism at the hands of another person.
Because people do not understand the command and who it is incumbent on.What I am wondering is why there is an on line directive on self baptism

Which men did the Ethiopian eunuch confess before? Here is your answer:
Matthew 10:32-33
Acts 8:36-37
You'll notice that ALL baptism of persons were done confessing before men. The book of Acts is a great one to study for this subject as it is pretty much a book on conversions.
So with these verses in mind, I ask you the same question?
Is baptizing yourself, according to scripture, valid?
Is it confessing before men?
Good, you are on the right frame of mind here. Remaining faithful is how you run the race with endurance. Study your bible, grow, do His will and obey the gospel.
Just remember, belief/faith is a verb here. It is an action. You continue to believe when you follow the gospel commands. John 3:16 compare with John 14:15. To not follow the commands of His will renders such like this verse says 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9.
Also, you don't have to GO to a church building to be baptized. It is just a building. When the bible talks of Church/Kingdom, it refers to the "assembly" of people. Not just any people but Christians. You can be baptized ANYWHERE so long as you are IMMERSED in water (See some examples Romans 6 and Acts 8:38-39). My main point being is, even if you don't have a car, surely you have a phone available to use. Call them over to you or have them pick you up. Baptism is not something you just wait around on. It is done immediately upon belief, repentance, and confession.
I am not a big fan of "what if's" but what if the Lord was to call upon you this instance?
Acts 22:16
According to the scripture I gave you, is solo baptism yourself valid?
Those who adhere to the process you're describing are vehement about it, but I often wonder just how many churches or individuals adhere to that POV.But for the record one last time, I DETEST the modern church practice of baptism for the practice and the principle behind it are so far removed from scriptures.
That practice and principle being:
Get "saved" first by praying this overly generic prayer and as long as you meant it you are saved.
Then let's get you enrolled in a baptism course (if that church/"minister" evens believes in baptism).
Then you are finally ready for baptism. After all baptism is just a public testimony of your faith... or is it an outward sign of an inward reality?
The purpose of water baptism is the same as a marriage ceremony: to make a public declaration of your commitment and faith. Symbolically it represents your dying with Christ and being raised again. To do so on your own will lack the impact of the experience of God in your life. For example, I prayed for my salvation with one man privately on a Friday. God answered that prayer by giving me an urge to join him at church on Sunday. By the end of the service I ran to the altar to pray again for my salvation in front of 500 people. The power and presence of God was then fully manifested at that time and I knew I was truly born again.Hello, I have been a Christian for about a year and I have been surrounding myself with scripture and have done everything I can to grow close with the Lord and to fully devote my life to serving Him. The churches that do not do so include the Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Reformed, and numerous smaller denominations/communions. These represent a very large majority of the world's Christians.
The post was not about whom we serve. I'm fairly certain that Christians on both sides of this issue concerning baptism would say, if asked, that they aspire to serve Christ.I am not overly concerned with how organized Christianity views my doctrine. It is not organized Christians I serve.

I brought up the point about the great majority of Christians and churches supporting the traditional view of the sacrament of Baptism. That's it. An informational comment. You were the one that brought up churches and a"majority of the world's Christianity" as if following the masses is important.
So earlier when you said "men" you actually meant "a man", singular, correct?Philip. Philip baptized him and Philip was there. Acts 8:26-40
