Very good description.satan, the word itself means "adversary". A devil is an adversary, not necessarlly an angel, simply because Satan the angel was called the devil - the adversary.
Were the nephillim adversaries to men? I think the answer is "yes". The unclean spirit of a devil, thus would be the disembodied spirit of a physically dead nephillim - that is looking to for a body to inhabit and torment.
Could the nephillim be related to fallen angels? Well, some of the fallen angels has relations with the daughters of men (humans) resulting in the nephillim race. So there is a connection between the nephillim and the fallen angels originally.
I don't think we have enough information on the subject to know exactly what demons are. But I don't know of any place in the bible that calls the fallen angels - demons directly. On the other hand, it could be said the same for the nephillim... excepting that the bible does say that nephillim died in the flood....not so of the fallen angels who started the nephillim race.
The fallen angels [number unknown] implied in the event that you describe [Genesis 6:1-4]have been locked into the bottomless pit ....
Jude 1:6 (KJV)
6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day
2 Peter 2:4
4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
