PERFECT means MATURE??
Luke 13:32 (NASB) Jesus’ Sorrow for Jerusalem
31 At that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said to him, “Leave this place and go
somewhere else. Herod wants to kill you.”
32 He replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day (resurrection!) I will reach my goal.’ 33 In any case, I must
press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem!
34 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, (ISRAEL?) you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her
wings, and you were not willing. 35 Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you,
you will not see me again until you say,
‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’”
Perfect in the Greek means: MATURE!
Jesus the Divine Messiah, The Christ, The Son of God, from conception to ascension, was:
SINLESS...without sin. He gave us, His believing saved disciples, the PERFECT example to follow.
Hebrews 4:15
For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. (always in God's will!)
Hebrews 9:28
so Christ also,
having been offered once to bear the sins of many,
will appear a second time (SECOND COMING!) for salvation without reference to sin,
to those (believers) who eagerly await Him.
1 Peter 2:21[ Christ Is Our Example ]
For you have been called for this purpose,
since Christ also suffered for you,
leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps,
KEYS: BELIEVE (JOHN 3;Ephesians 2...THEN...FOLLOW (Mark 8)...THEN ... OBEY (John 3:36; John 14:15,21)
Mark 8 (NASB)
34 And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them,
“If anyone wishes to come after (FOLLOW) Me, he must (OBEY by
deny himself, (put all first) and
take up his cross (sacrifice SELF!) and
follow Me. (keep His precepts, imitate Jesus' life)
35 For whoever wishes to save his (body/soul) life will lose it,
but whoever loses his (body/soul) life for My sake and the gospel’s will (spiritually) save it. 36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul (spirit)?
37 For what will a man give in exchange for his soul? (spirit)?
38 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation,
the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes
in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”...SEE: 1 Thess. 4 !
John 3:36...John the Baptizer
He who believes in the Son has eternal life;
but he who does not obey the Son will not see life,
but the wrath of God abides on him.”
John 14:15,21
“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments....
He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me;
and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and
I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.”
John 15:10
If you keep My commandments, you will ABIDE (dwell) in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
Hebrews 5:9
And having been made perfect, He (Jesus)
became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation,
