  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

I'm mean toxic as in asking you if you were born with an extra chromosome just because I disagree with you on something. YouTube is notorious for Ad Hominem attacks and petty insults in any conversation imaginable.

I still think that stuff should be allowed.

Really those type of comments do not really bother me. Just helps you develop a thicker skin.

Then Newgrounds would be an awesome place for you. If you think I'm dark and messed up, just wait till you get a load of these guys.

Things are continually getting better for me atm, it's like a constant progression. I'm very grateful to God. If someone would have told me I'd be in the positions I'm in now a couple of years ago I would have had a hard time believing them... and I have a feeling it's just the beginning.

God does miracles all the time, everywhere - but especially for his children . Sometimes miracles happen in an instant, sometimes it's prolonged.

Seek God genuinely, consistantly and he will reward you. This goes for his children, and people who aren't his children. Seek and never give up. His grace provides ways.

Some of the content there have made headlines before. They have a torture game that made it on Fox news. One game where you play as Adam Lanza shooting up Sandy Hook was removed because the parents of the victims put in a heartfelt complaint. It was a really controversial site back in the day but lately the admins are trying to shy away from those things and make it more user friendly.

Still, the users there are toxic and I'm happy I deleted my original account.

A team local to where I live won the NCAA (Men's) Basketball Championship last year, so it'd be a bit much for me to complain that I don't have a particularly significant rooting interest in tonight's game! :basketball:

Wrestlemania has been excellent tonight. Plenty of surprises and great matches. Sadly, this might be the Undertaker's last match, who is really the only reason why I got into wrestling as a kid/teen. I've followed him all these years and I'll probably be done when he retires.

The best ever.

Just wondering, because I know of him but didn't watch the wrestling program he was a part of back in my day, was The Undertaker ever really a face or a heel in the script? He always seemed more like the enigmatic type to me, owing allegiance to no one, face or heel, and he would only cross you if you crossed him first. But that was just my impression as a casual.

The man was certainly intimidating, though, tall as he was with that black hat that hides his eyes somewhat.

He was a heel in the attitude era BIG time. He was in The Corporate Ministry with Vince, etc... And then he went on to do other dark stuff.

Basically anything that JR didn't approve of was considered heel.

Hmm. A guy with the seeming demeanor of Undertaker would be one of the last people I would imagine to ever sell out to anyone else, much less the corporate powers that be at the time. But again, I scarcely followed WWF in my time (I was definitely more WCW, starting with the time Hulk Hogan turned heel for to my knowledge the first time ever in his career by forming the NWO, and ending maybe a year or so before WCW stopped airing), so I am going off of very little personal observation here. It's nice to see a veteran, an ancient warrior like Undertaker to still be in the business at all, though. Actually, are Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan still wrestling at all?

(Someone should start a pro wrasslin' thread, mayhap?)

The angle was a complete failure. I don't think the ministry lasted more than six months. There was just too much star power in one group. They all ruined each other.

It's amazing really that my memory of this is so lucid. I was only a kid at the time.

I'm not sure about Flair and Hogan. Flair may well be in the indies, but don't quote me on that.

Uh oh, I've angered my sister. I sent the girls this coloring book:

I thought it was hilarious, but apparently the UPS driver drove up, honked, and woke everyone up who was napping, so instead of laughing, she's upset over. But everyone else is laughing about it on Facebook :D

Nah, that doesn't shock me either.

I don't think I'd seek out forums like that though. Reminds me of 14 year old behavior. Back then it was edgy and cool, but as you grow older it just seems like a pointless waste of time. Not that I don't mind edgy stuff, it just has to be done well. Most there just go for the cheap "shock" tactics.

I'm still a compassionate person and all that, and tragic stories can get to me. But I'm pretty desensitized to people trying to get a rise out of others. Even if I someday became a celebrity and had cancer and people started mocking that, I'd reply with it in good humor (mainly to respond differently than a lot of celebrities do when that kind of thing happens, lol). And honestly not care.

One can mock short men and that will get me angry, although that's context specific. I don't mind your short jabs when reading your comics. But coming from a hypocritical feminist or someone, yeah I'll be angry and respond in kind, lol.

Which is true for a lot of things. I don't like double standards. If someone makes edgy jokes yet think something is off limits, I will find that attitude offensive.

Given that, websites like Buzzfeed are pretty offensive. Because they make loads and loads of posts about women not taking sexist insults and jokes, yet just go around and do the same to men.

Which is why I like to say to a feminist who makes claims about men having fragile feelings, I found the film Thelma And Louise charming and funny. Although if it came out this year instead of 1992, I'd find it extremely offensive. Now why is that? Hmm..

Lol.
