  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Seven Days: Why is "I don't know" unacceptable?

7 Day creation- literal or figurative?

I see the above thread has found new life. It's one of those topics that will be discussed forever. While my position is that the first chapters of Genesis refer to the historical events surrounding God's creative acts, I find the "literal or figurative" debate to be a false dichotomy.

I have fun discussing my view and the views of others when the participants have the right attitude. But I think of such discussions as speculation. If pressed with, "What really happened?" my answer would be, "I don't know."

So why do so many seem to find that an unsatisfactory answer?
When did Jews circumcise their sons

Interesting question to relate, but is it related? Wouldn't it be day 6 rather than day 8 days if it were to do with the 7 days of creation, and completeness or state of being very good? Or if it demonstrated removal of sin (after the 7 days when God rested and everything was very good), why did girls have to wait an additional 7 days for a similar purification, when Eve sinned first?

No it would have to do with 8 since one would have to pass through the LORD's SABBATH rest

We live today on the present 6th Day, the Day of Salvation, which will not come to an end until God's heaven is filled with ALL of it's host according to Genesis 2:1.
No we are a new 8th day creation who have been reborn of the imperishable seed of CHRIST having passed through the Lord's Sabbath Rest

I don't know.
But take heart. Science says the same thing sooner or later.

The Sabbath rest is future. It will not happen until AFTER Jesus returns and changes ALL creatures into vegetarians. Gen 1:30

Amen and Adam (mankind) MUST be created in God's Image, which is in Christ, Spiritually, on the Day of Salvation. TODAY is the Day of Salvation according to the Lord.
2Co 6:2 (For He saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
