  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

"Well everybody does it" is about the worst excuse in the world. If we actually punished people who get caught, then maybe everybody wouldn't cheat. But slapping them on the wrist and letting them continue, and praising every move they make in the media-- let's just tell all the kids watching that cheating is the way to get ahead.
I said nothing about it being an excuse........ simply pointing out a fact. If that fact bugs people then they should just walk away from the NFL as a whole.... cause the Pats aren't the problem. Its the league it is and has been about getting the upper hand and its not going to change until enough people walk away from it.

Til then pointing and screaming "cheaters" is pointless.

As far as "the kids" are concerned. If the parents do their jobs then NFL athletes aren't raising their children so there is no need for these athletes to be the sole role model for the child.

I'm just saying, if maybe we weren't all so willing to accept that the team that cheats the most should be world champion or greatest of all-time-- maybe we wouldn't have the kind of league we have now.

What bothers me isn't so much the cheating itself as much as the attitude that people hate the Pats unnecessarily- or for Pats fans to say that they're unfairly persecuted by the league and the refs, and unfairly hated just cause they win.

Michael Jordan won a lot-- he was the most popular athlete ever-- Buddhist monks in the Himalayas were spotted wearing Bulls hats in the early 90's.

I would call a year-long witchhunt followed by a 4-game suspension more than a slap on the wrist. And sorry, even if he was guilty he is still making big throws regardless of whether or not 2 lbs of air is missing in a ball. You can rail on him for "cheating" all you want, but he deserves a lot of credit for his success.

Well honestly I think we are stuck (respectfully) on two sides of the fence. While you are tired of people giving them a pass. I am tired of those that want blood from them and no matter what it's never enough.

Really I have no love for the Pats.... they humiliate my team consistently (like the PM led Colts) so like you I have no love for them.

But in other news.......... I found your perfect cat.

Sometime around 9pm bedtime, that is 3 hours ago from where I'm at......

Me: *Talking to God on several things*

Suddenly

Me: *falls asleep*

3 hours later at 12 O'clock AM

Me: *SNORKS, Wakes up*
"Errr what were we talking about God? Oh! Yes I remember. Many things."

God was on my mind. I was thing about many things. I fell asleep on Him....HaHaHaHa

<staff edit>we're all (including myself) too cavalier with photos and other aspects of our identity on this site. Given that there has been at least one incident of an unsavory individual roaming these parts, prudence dictates we should cut it out.

It's just narcissistic anyway.

Tbh kissing short girls (while standing up) is like doing the limbo for an ungodly amount of time.

Worth it though. ;)

This is exactly what I was trying to say in another thread. We are real people behind these screens. I very much agree here. I felt last year that a lot were only looking at text and forgetting that we are dealing with real people just because we can't see their face. I am constantly reminded even though I can't see them that they still have real feelings.

It's also important to keep in mind that, yes, there's a risk when posting a picture of mainly anything nowadays.

Any mobile users try to rate a post, but your fingers are too big and you spend several minutes trying to get the right rating? Lol
