Why do we allow this?

My family was a big TV growing up, and I still watch as my main source of daily entertainment. One of our favorite shows when I was in junior high and high school was CSI, and I remember an episode from when I was about 13 where the victim was into that adult baby thing. I really didn't think anything of it, just thought he was a weird dude who liked pretending to be a baby. It wasn't until my mom later commented that she consider asking me to not watch the episode that I even had the remote thought that it was something in-appropriate. I didn't really think anything of it. Years later in during a summer or some break in college, I was watching a marathon on Spike and it came on and I thought "oh, that's why."
There's a lot of shows like that for me as well that I just didn't "get", I watched every episode of Friends in junior high and there were a lot of things that I didn't even catch. That's the same thing with other shows as well. Disney is infamous for putting adult jokes that kids simply won't even notice or think anything about.

My question to Christians all over the world is.. why are we allowing the evil people to win?
Its like we feel powerless? Are we truly powerless though?

I understand christianity is somewhat of a pacifist religion however..
didn't Jesus go and break all the tables of the money lenders, salesman, etc and even grabbed a whip as to scare them all away from selling in the temple?
Jesus was no pacifist, he CHOSE to let himself be crucified to absolve us of our sins.
All apostles carried swords to defend themselves and like Jesus they also called out evil.
But it seems as if modern christians have been castrated and they have no idea how much power they truly hold. Not as a group but every individual has power beyond their expectations.
Many of us fear calling out this evil because of fear of being called a racist, bigot, homophobe, etc.
Well let them call us what they will, because its coming from the serpents mouth to shut us down, from personal experience, the day i stopped caring about being called any of the aforementioned was the day that devilish tongues lost their grasp on me.
But as we have all seen this rising trend as of late... how long until we start seeing words like pedophobe being tossed at us..?
And let me tell you the word pedophobe is already starting to be used.
Even criminals on life sentences abhorr pedophiles.
Why are we allowing it..?

Jesus wasn't just a Messiah, he was also a politician, a healer, he would call out evil on the spot and he would talk to the people around the evil person as to not debate the evil person but to show the crowd and let them know of the evils at his present time.
This is why they(the guilty) hated him, this is why theres so many atheist and downright satanic people today, and why they hate christians especially so much.
Because they hate Jesus and his followers because they call them out on their evil.
And they know they are guilty but they hate being reminded of it and moreso being exposed to those around them.

I think we as a "church" are in the state we are in for multiple reasons. The most obvious reason I believe is because of lukewarmness and a lack of solid teaching coming from the pulpit.

i think you are right about the fact that there has been (not) a (little) laxity in many modern christians, for example, many christians accused me of ostensibly serving the satanic kingdom, but i saw not a few christians being friends of the world of beastly(666) spirituality/religiosity - e.g. i denounced many satanic creeds and sects, they acted in their favor, anyway, i think in principle we must not be belligerent, we can denounce spiritual unrighteousness/wickedness, we can also destroy the devil's works, but in principle it won't be right that we be belligerent, especially when we can overcome evil with good, unrighteousness with righteousness, lie with truth, etc., anyway, we have to persevere in well-doing

I know that me and my wife are getting sick and tired of alot of the crap they show on tv nowadays and act like it is okay. Unfortunetly my dumbness [staff edited] got us into a 2 year agreement with our current provider, luckily thanks to my job we are having to move to a different state soon, so the agreement will be dropped and we will be getting rid of cable.

Obviously we will still keep the internet, and change out cable for streaming services (netflix, hulu, amazon prime) and have a choice in what we watch and don't watch.

It has gotten so bad, especially in this country, that as soon as we can we are hoping to move to a much more christian founded country that (hopefully) still holds true to it's roots.

My guess is Ireland, but we will have to see if that still works out.

EDIT: Also, a good way to help stop the current flow of things, is to raise our children and our community with a strong christian foundation. Because it may not be us, but the next generation that will put an end to this.

I know, as we all do just by this site, that we all have our disagreements on certain things in christianity, but in regards to this we need to put that aside. Too many times have I read of this forums "such and such arent christians!" (mostly in reference to Catholics and Orthodox) but we are and that needs to stop.

Only by working together can we, and the following generations have any hope in stopping this tidal wave that seems to have surfaced in the last decade or so.

We Christians have now become the outsiders, the unwanted, and our views and beliefs seen as "out dated" and "hateful". Most of us could get fired simply by our beliefs because it makes someone "feel unsafe", and you see fewer and fewer christians on tv shows now than any time before.

There needs to be a change, otherwise we will start to see this and more disgusting crap not just in "adult and family" shows, but also children shows for toddlers! That is a scary thought.

It's really in regards to the commercials that you tend to see inbetween the shows. The shows could be absolutely fine, but I cant count how many times I would be watching a decent show only to have an upcoming show commercial show me something I really didn't wish to see.

And it's too much of a hassle to always be flipping through, just trying to avoid said commercials.

No one is forcing you to watch commercials. Personally, if I'm not watching something on my DVR (which is how I perfer to watch my shows), I get on my phone, laptop, or go do something during commercial breaks.
